WARNING: MANAGEMENT INDIFFERENCE ABOUNDS
Sunday, 6 of us - 3 kids, 3 adults, stopped by on the way home from church. Small wait, fairly priced. However, we sat at an 8 person table. The table next to us had pulled a table over to accommodate their party of 10 effectively blocking any access to the emergency exit.
Another party sat at the other table next to us and pulled another table over for their group of 12, effectively blocking the other access to main dining room, restrooms, etc. Sure they moved out of the way for the servers carrying food, and for me when we were trying to leave. The guy in the end moved by standing and moving the baby carrier next to his feet.
The worst of it - not the people wanting to sit with their Church group,I get that, it was the total indifference by staff and management. We alerted the staff who said, "Yep, they do that."
The manager said, "That happens when we get busy. Nothing WE can do about it."
HOGWASH!
My family and I felt trapped. Chances are slim that something would happen, however, it could have. Safety guidelines are set to protect patrons... Just in case! Shooter, fire, anything could have caused a panic. People would have gotten hurt being climbed over by folks in back trying to escape had there been an issue.
A good manager should have taught the staff to say, "I'm sorry. We have to leave this area open." Several times I have inadvertantly blocked an emergency exit when doing presentations in a restaurant with a few chairs or the seating arrangements and was told, No. We have to keep this aisle open due to Fire Marshall orders. Simple, you can't, don't do it. I made the appropriate changes.
Management's indifference for my family's safety and for all the patrons won't get me back.
Please be careful where you sit, should you patronize this McAlister. You might be putting your life and those with...
Read moreIf I could give less then one star I would. The whole trip and experience was terrible. We might have been there 10 minutes all together. We went in and order which should have been a warning sign. The girl that took our order was more worried about chewing on her fake nails then taking care of us if she wasn't chewing on her nails she was leaning on the counter hoofing and puffing about taking care of us. Then when we got to the dining area it wasn't clean. Food on all the seats and half the tables like they haven't been clean. Most of the booth seats are torn and you know they can keep them updated then they are. When we got our food it was sad. We got a bowl of soup and it wasn't hot at all. Not even warm. It was basically the warmth of a can of soup when you dump it out of a can. The bake potatoe didnt come with much toppings at all. Enough toppings for a bite. The sandwich had cheese on half and the chicken was ice cold. Only hot were the bbq sauce was and it wasn't even that hot. It was more luke warm. I have been trying to give McAllisters a try over and over but this location ruined it for me. McAllisters has gone down hill over the past...
Read moreI placed an online order with a scheduled pick up time 45 minutes later hoping to save some time over my busy lunch hour. When I arrived my order was not in the pick up area. I waited 10 minutes to ask about my order thinking maybe they were busy and got behind. I was told the order had been cancelled even though I had a confirmation. I was told "sometimes it just happens" and I could reorder if I had another 5 minutes. I've done multiple online orders in the past without any issues so I don't understand it "just happens". Pressed for time I reordered. Twelve minutes later I got my food which was incorrect because there were two items on the sandwich which I had requested be removed and the additional item I had requested was not with the order. The time I thought I was going to save was gone and I ended up late for an appointment. The "it happens" attitude and lack of explanation without any offer of compensation is probably the most disappointing part. Maybe the "freaky fast" place around the corner would have been a...
