This review isn't specifically about the store but more of a reflection on the management as well as the BJ's Tire Center. After holding off from writing this negative review for three weeks, my hand (or fingers since this is a keyboard) has been forced. I went to BJ's to have two tires replaced, one of which had an issue. Two of my tires were replaced, however the problem tires were rotated from the rear to the front of the vehicle. One of the new tires blew out the next day. Luckily for me, the tire was replaced two days later by BJ's as it may have been defective. One of the perks of the service from BJ's Tire Center is that they had let me put the tire on myself in their parking lot as opposed to one of the BJ's Certified Tire Technicians, this obviously adds to the customer experience. After not hearing any response from store management, I contacted corporate. I had not heard anything back for about two weeks. I contacted corporate and they contacted the store where the manager was prompted to contact me. The manager mentions to come in and see him about a refund or gift card. I think that was the best part of the experience. Upon arriving and speaking with the store manager as well as the Regional Tire Center Trainer, I was given the news that there was nothing that could be done since there is an issue with my rim. Regardless, the store manager offered me a $10 gift card. So all in all, I would recommend BJ's if you'd like to spend $325 dollars for two new tires that you didn't need in the first place and spent countless hours in the BJ's Tire Center. In fact, I think I only need four more hours to become a BJ's Certified Tire Technician, maybe next time they'll let me put the tire on in the garage. Feel free to contact me BJ's, if you have...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: BJs has replaced their former credit card bank They now use a real bank, Capital One. DAY AND NIGHT improvements. Online services, phone contact, phone alerts… so far every aspect is vastly improved. The rating has gone from one star to three.
Inside BJs store is also looking better.
(BY THE WAY, the BUTCHERS are definitely FIVE STARS!! The meat is usually good but it’s the butchers that are super helpful. Fresh vegetables are hit or miss. Dairy and eggs good prices.

AVOID THE BJs CREDIT CARD! They use Comenity Bank which is a DISASTER.
It's too bad that I have to use a one star rating for BJs. The store itself is probably at least a three or four star outlet. But their credit card is SO bad that it drags down anything good that the store can offer. The come on for the credit card was 50 cents off per gallon of gas for three months. With the price of gas topping three bucks, that offer was too attractive to turn down. Had I known what I was in for with Comenity Bank, I would have forgone any discount and not applied for the card at all. That "bank" is the worst, worst, WORST that I've ever encountered. Check out the bank's reviews... ALL one star.
I look forward to amending this review if BJs gets wise and dumps this awful credit card "bank". They have some bargains and their gasoline is among the lowest price around. But while they use Comenity, I can go down the road to another discount...
Read moreAlmost next door to Costco. Far less crowed INSIDE and in the parking lot than Costco. Same gas prices as Costco but if you make any purchase INSIDE before buying gas that day, they take 5 cents off your gas.
They have most quality and other items as Costco as similar prices and many things Costco does not have (and vice versa). I like the fact that they have items available in SMALLER or SINGLE sizes as well as those jumbo sizes and packs.
They have a meat department. Not impressed with it and no PRIME as far as I can tell. They have a deli department with slice to order meats and cheese.
Produce is very good with large selection.
I don't like the fact that you have to get box your purchase yourself and pack it yourself. (Why I didn't give it 5 stars)
The checkout lines are MUCH shorter than Costco. Isles are NOT crowded like they are at Costco.
Same other (auto, travel etc) benefits as Costco.
They take any credit or debit card, unlike Costco that only takes Visa Debit.
If you are stressed out by Costco's long lines (what a waste of my valuable time) and lack of parking (people "fighting for spaces", BJs is for you if you have one in your area.
This review is of the Brookfield CT store/warehouse, which is the only one I've used.
You don't get cash back (as with Costco) unless you have and use their branded credit card.
They accept ALL credit cards, while Costco...
