Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Brookhaven

Don’t walk.. run to Rita’s!!! The custard machine is back!!! The Rita’s is under new ownership and it shows! I grew up in PA and am so happy to have Rita’s in Atlanta. A couple things I’m really happy about under the new management:

I called to inquire about the flavors available and place a last minute order for 3 gallons. They were extremely helpful and kind. Under the last management it was difficult to get anyone on the phone. I also appreciated them being so flexible with such a last minute request.

Side note: Rita’s at a pool party or a large social gathering is a huge hit!!! I brought the Italian ice to my sisters 30th birthday party and it was so refreshing in the atlanta heat.

The custard machine is working!! The custard machine was broken last year and I guess the old owners struggled getting it fixed during the off season? I love the Gelatis so this is a game changer on how frequently I go.

The owners are more involved I went in to pick up my order and the owner came out and introduced himself to me. Him and his sister recently took ownership of this location and you can tell they really care about customer service.

I went in tonight with my family to get some ice and sit outside. We have not been here for a long time so we decided to give it a drive and check it out. When we went inside the young man inside never said 'Hello" or "Would you like to try something" he just stood there looking. My wife then asked him if he was taking orders and he nodded "Yes" but then did not make her order. At that point this young woman "Reagan" came out and took my order and my sons while the young man just stood there not helping out at all. Another young lady was there and she was stocking up and after we received our order my wife still did not have hers and other patrons were not getting waited by this young guy it was Reagan who was helping me and all the other customers. I had to tell Reagan very loudly that he did not make my wife's order and he just stood there not doing anything but....but taking out his phone and scrolling through the phone. I made sure and gave Reagan a tip and told her to keep the money and NOT put it in the jar. I am not saying I won't be back but if you dont want to work then quit or let him go. Very unprofessional and it made the experience less because we felt bad for Reagan and the other young woman who...
