As a frequent traveler, both in and out of state to visit friends and family, I was looking forward to dining at Sushi Itto after a last-minute suggestion from a friend who absolutely LOVES this place. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. While our waitress was new (which is completely understandable and not an issue for us), everything that happened afterward was very disappointing. Our Spider Roll—specifically one piece, had a HAIR on it. We immediately addressed this with our waitress and even mentioned that we’d be fine eating the remaining rolls as long as a discount could be applied (we didn’t re-order because the service was already extremely slow). In addition to the rolls, we ordered a teriyaki dinner platter with fried rice. To our surprise, it turned out to be plain grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce on top, and the fried rice was honestly not good. After trying both the chicken and rice, we were not impressed and didn’t enjoy the meal. We shared this feedback with our waitress, who then came back and said the owner told her that since we ordered it, there was nothing they could do about the platter. They offered to make new rolls, but refused any sort of discount. At this point, I asked to speak with the owner because our waitress was clearly flustered, understandably so, since she was new and shouldn’t have to handle money-related issues on top of learning her role. The owner avoided us and instead chose to remove the Spider Roll from our bill but reiterated that since we “touched” the food, nothing else could be done. I decided to take the loss, but for a first-time experience, this left a bad taste in my mouth. literally and...
Read more2 stars is being nice. My wife and I went, were seated with 4 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. The server passed by us many times without stopping or looking. 20 min passed by with no drink order, to the point that another guy started looking around noticing. She sat and took another tables order before even getting our drinks, albeit trying to wave her down. She finally came over and we placed our order and didn't even listen to what we wanted to drink. She brought waters and just walked away. We had to ask her a second time for something other than water to drink.
The food came and it wasn't great. The sushi was pretty bland. One of my favorite rolls is a spicy tuna roll. Really easy to make and hard to make bad, but somehow it was. It had no flavor and I couldn't finish it. My crunch roll was just ok. My wife got the volcano roll, and couldn't finish it, which is normally another one of our favorite rolls and never had a bad one. The calamari had a good flavor, but it was stringy like rubber bands and hard to eat.
Overall, not recommended. I'm really confused on the reviews here. We love sushi, but there are so many better sushi places to go to in Atlanta in terms of food...
Read moreWe where there with my son today. It was our first time to go there because I read great reviews. When we walked in, the server asked us if we are dining in or taking out. I said we’re dining in. She just said “ok”. After maybe two minutes of us standing by the counter, she looked at us and asked “ you’re dining in, right? You can take a seat anywhere”. She could have said it earlier when we first walked in. So, we sat on the table, no menu given, so my son took the menus from the desk for both of us. The place was not crowded. Maybe 2 or 3 more tables, one checking out and one waiting for his take out order. No one approached us to get our drinks. We were ready to order so I looked at her. She was waiting on another customer so she yelled at me and said “I’ll be right there. I’m sorry” as she probably noticed that we’ve been sitting there for 20 minutes. Then another take out customer came, she attended to that, and then the phone rang. By that time, we just decided to walk out. Others may have been lucky to eat their food and get good service but unfortunately we didn’t experience that. There are several sushi places in Atlanta that could very well be worth my...
