w Bo Bo Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Brookhaven

As we embarked on our journey 🗺️ to Louisiana we found ourselves traveling through rural Mississippi, having very limited choices for eateries 😖 we began searching google maps for options around Brookhaven. We came across a very detailed and complimentary review by J. Cockerham, which provided a trove of information on the high quality food and exceptional service at New Bo Bo Chinese Buffet 🥳💍. We decided to give it a try and soon we had arrived at New Bo Bo Chinese Buffet. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and a warm atmosphere, which was greatly appreciated due to the cold north wind just outside the door 🌬️🥶. Our drink order was taken at the counter and our bill was provided in advance for payment prior to being seated. We were seated at a booth for four, right across from the half filled slightly algae-covered aquarium filled with an assortment of African cichlids. 🐠 We were quite impressed by the size of the bright orange koi fish 🐠 that was mounted on display on the northern wall of the restaurant. However, this display could not be outdone by the nice taxidermy white-tailed deer majestically overlooking the register near the entrance of New Bo Bo Chinese Buffet 🦌🪽😇. After receiving our drinks, 3 coke zeros and a water (ordered by my lovely health conscious wife), we suspected that they gave us Diet Coke, not Coke Zero as requested 🤔🤔🤔. But no matter, surely the food would make up for this minuscule oversight by New Bo Bo Chinese Buffet 🙂‍↕️. As we approached the multiple buffet stations I was reminded of the reviews and ipso facto the stations were clean, and well stocked 🥳. The colorful lighting created a pleasant ambiance for us while perusing the selections 🤩🚨. I took note of the coconut shrimp, check ✅! Broccoli and beef, check ✅! Fried fish, check ✅! Sushi bar, check ✅! Bluebell ice cream, check, check, check! ✅✅✅ I began my selection at the sushi bar and then with little room remaining on my plate, selected a few of the famous coconut shrimp and the beef and broccoli 😋. Intentionally avoiding too much of the fried selections I returned to our cozy booth for four. Upon returning my family and I discussed each of our selections. While the kids focused on the egg rolls and sweet and sour chicken, the love of my life 👰‍♀️had selected the Bo Bo chicken and the salt and pepper shrimp. After we had all had our fill, we visited the Blue Bell ice cream cooler, the ice cream did not disappoint! 🍨😋🎉 The attentive staff noticing we were about to leave brought us traditional Chinese fortune cookies. 🥠🥠🥠🥠 As we all marveled at our fortunes we reflected on the importance of family and realized how incredibly fortunate we all are to live in these United States of America. 🦅🇺🇸 #blessed As stated earlier we had paid our check in advance, so we climbed back into the station wagon and resumed our journey to Cajun country. 🚙💨 To conclude this review, I want to leave my fellow reviewers with some final words. BoBo is superb for Chinese food! They have a great variety and plenty of it on their buffet. Something new and surprising, to me, they have fried well seasoned Catfish, fried oysters,and shrimp! " Haw", it was good! It would have been better, only if they had ketchup for it. They may have had a bottle of ketchup, but it wasn't visible and I hated to ask..next time, I will . The food is always delicious and the service is very good. We usually have a group of 15-20. They have a back room with plenty of space for such size groups and even bigger groups! The service is great, they are constantly keeping a check on your drinks and very prompt with refills. They also have an ever increasing sushi bar...if that is to your liking! There is plenty of other things that I enjoy eating; but again, I am in the minority. I love their choice of dessert...Blue Bell ice cream in a variety of flavors! Always a winner with most everyone. I would like to mention that their take out is fantastic As well. Shrimp fried rice is a favorite of mine that is not on their buffet. Sometimes, during the week, I call in an order and go pick it up. It's always loaded with large shrimp and it's enough food for more than one meal! I love the take out from there. Usually, One of the owner's teenager sons takes the order and operates the cash register, he is very nice and respectful as well. The last time, I went in and placed an order to go, it was pretty heavy. Since, I walk with a cane, one of the ladies insisted on taking it to my Expedition, which was parked in a handicap parking space, just outside. That kind deed was greatly appreciated. A Real Gem💍 in Brookhaven!

My husband and I look forward to dining at Bo Bo Chinese restaurant on our road trips to Tennessee. We are from Louisiana and know good food. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll find plenty of it here. Pictures of just a few of their scrumptious dishes are included. Crisp broccoli and tender beef covered in a perfectly spiced sauce for their beef and broccoli? Check! Mouth-watering fried fish with tartar sauce that has just that right touch of tanginess to make your taste buds dance? Check! Delicious crunchy green beans flavored perfectly? Check! Downright decadent and rich coconut shrimp that’ll make you wish you could eat it every day? Check! And these are only a few of my favorites. Yum!!!😋

We have learned that the restaurant is under the recent and expert management of a DePaul University graduate who has been in the restaurant industry since he was about sixteen years old. You can taste the love he pours into this restaurant in every bite of the food served here. Without fail, the staff at Bo Bo have always been friendly, attentive, and eager to please.

The restaurant is easily accessible from the interstate and has ample parking. Because food is served buffet style, you can serve yourself quickly with little to no wait time.

Without reservation, I fully recommend Bo Bo Chinese restaurant for their outstanding food, dedicated owner, and friendly staff. The food and service here are of the highest caliber. This establishment truly is a real gem 💍...
