Waffle House — Restaurant in Brookhaven

In drove an hour and half from an neighboring state (Louisisna) to order food. Hammond , La. an area that had suffered major destruction from hurricane Ida. The catastrophe had affected this city resulting in complete blackouts due tfown powerlines down, fsllen trees, (many trees fell blocking both lanes ) (severe destruction and major damage to home making them ihabitable, nofevers to purchase food meaning restaurants , fast food,dining places, convenience stores, grocery stores, ,)Major gas shortages , or none at all. .Job loss no access to bank funds caused by atm not working abd banks being closed. The damage was an whole lit mire then bring compared to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. No ice no bread no drinks, no nothing. In had drove 45 miserable miles to another parish, parked on side of the road in a line waiting to get was for an hour and 45 min. Interstate

The nearest place to get food was much longer. In found waffle house in Brookhaven and McComb and their online listing stated open 24 hours. So I made the hour and 20 min trip only to find both of these locations closed .

I haven't eaten at a Waffle House in a long time when starting my long holiday vacation. I Love Waffle House, stopped in and already knew what I wanted to eat. They looked at me and waited several, several minutes to even ask me anything, and finally came to bring me a menu, and I told her what I wanted and didn't need a menu.

They had the jukebox so loud like a bar, and it had a bar atmosphere!! I could not even hear the waitress hardly and could not hardly concentrate!!

They were in their own world and had no time for me, a paying, traveling customer!!!!

I ordered two eggs over easy, Bacon, toast. The Bacon was burnt, eggs ok I guess, toast was ok. Cook saw I didn't eat my all of my eggs and no bacon, and he said

"You don't like my bacon because I'm Black"

I was like, excuse me. I have a lot of Black Friends, You Burned The Bacon and I don't like burnt Bacon.

Might be the worst Waffle House I have ever been in. The floor looks like it has not been cleaned in months. The waffle marker has not been cleaned in a hot min. I made a to go order and two tables that sat down about 10 mins after me placing said order they still received their food first when they ordered the same thing I did. I can't even understand how that happens when you order a Allstar. I give this store a 0 on cleanliness and a 1 on customer service. At the time I was here they were only sitting 3 tables at a time with 4 staff members working. If I owned this Waffle House I would close it if this was the best I could do to staff it. I left almost a $10 tip on a $11 ticket because I felt very sorry for this place and the people. If everyone tip what they are worth they would never receive anything other than their hourly wage.
