I really wanted to like this cafe—the drinks are decent and the space itself is cozy and inviting. Unfortunately, my experience during their promotional opening day left a bad taste in my mouth.
There were signs clearly advertising $2 drinks "all day," with no time specified. However, when I went to order at 7:55 AM, I was charged full price. When I asked about the promotion, I was told it didn't start until 8 AM. It was only five minutes early—if they had just let me wait a few minutes, it would have been a much more customer-friendly experience.
To make matters worse, I noticed people who had already settled in with their drinks and laptops being asked to move right after 8 AM because staff needed to set up a jewelry stand in that space. If that area was going to be repurposed, it would have been more considerate to communicate that in advance, rather than interrupting people who were already settled in.
Hopefully these are just opening day hiccups, but better communication and a bit more flexibility would make for a much smoother experience...
Read moreI would rate Blank Street Coffee as a 7/10 overall. I had the iced Daydream latte. I think it’s actually the first latte I’ve had with cinnamon that wasn’t completely overpowered. It reminded me of a pillsbury cinnamon roll! It was actually pretty good. I also ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The sandwiches are all premade and warmed up (similar to Starbucks) and was a bit stiff when I ate it. Definitely not comparable to a freshly made one, but when it’s made ahead - you can’t expect freshness. The ambiance was really cute and they had an adorable merch selection! I’d definitely go back for another...
Read moreGot the Iced Daydream Matcha, Iced Daydream Latte (not shown in pics), and Iced Chai Latte. While the matcha is definitely good quality and well-made, I didn’t like the Daydream Matcha that much for its overly cinnamon flavor. In my opinion, the oat milk also didn’t go well with the matcha. Same goes for the Latte. The Chai Latte was the worst as it literally tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch infused milk… there was no strong chai flavor at all and the cinnamon flavor was overpowering. However, the Brookline location is really nice and a great...
