I can't believe I waited so long to try this place out. My friend and I made a reservation ahead of time for the Brookline location, I believe they have a location in the North End as well. My friend had been there before so she was able to make some great recommendations for me. This place is also doing things right when it comes to social distancing. There are literally barriers surrounding each table so you feel extra safe to dine in. We ordered the mussel starter. The portion size is more than enough for two people to share .The only thing I was lacking was some fresh bread to serve up with the mussels because the broth was so divine. For mains my friend got the monkfish and I got the Squid Ink pasta with Alfredo Sauce. Again portion sizes are super impressive. You can tell that the pasta is made fresh as well. The Alfredo sauce was super creamy and cheesy and the monkfish was soft and juicy. If you are worried about dining in this is one of those places you can feel 100 percent safe. And the dine in experience is wonderful.

I rarely leave reviews but had to bring this to everyone's attention. As much as I hate to post this low rated review without trying the food, the service my friend and I received was horrible and RACIST. I would avoid this place. My friend and I were really looking forward to having dinner here on Saturday night around 8.8:30pm. The place is small so we were told to wait outside since all the tables were full. Totally understandable as it was later in the night and like I said, smaller place. Thankfully the line moved fast and we were ushered in. We didn't receive any attention for awhile - no menus, water, waiter but this was still fine- it was a busy night and the waiters looked busy. After us sitting without any service or even menus, the waiter walked up to our table and promptly asked us to move to another table, since a table of 3 needed to come in and we had been seated at a larger table. Again, we were fine with this request and moved to another table to accommodate the party of 3 after us. The problem began here. As we were moving to the other table, the waiter looked us up and down, turned to me and said "she she" which I think means thank you in mandarin(?). My friend and I are Asian American and I am not Chinese. If he had stopped here, that would've been fine but continued to ask us if we were from China? Japan? OhH oh my gosh, born here? We were extremely taken aback as we had not received any sort of service or attention since being seated and this was all he was saying to us. He then proceeded to walk away without giving us the menus or taking orders. I would've even been a little more understanding if he had said these things to most of the tables since there were a lot of Asians around us in this restaurant but this was not the case. My friend and I sat there absolutely stunned as he then turned right back around and gave the table that came in after us AND that we had moved for- menus and took their order!!! when he did come back to us after we tried to get his attention for what seemed like forever, he asked us what we would like to order.... Hilarious. Menus had not even been given to us still. I get that it's a busy night but my friend and I were extremely uncomfortable at this point and felt we had given him the benefit of the doubt many times. Please avoid this place at all costs. I was looking forward to the food but the service made us leave as we felt uncomfortable and not accommodated for. We ended up getting up and leaving. Should have gotten this person's name, as if it was not for him, this would've been a really pleasant experience and an...

I've bq12@@qeen there several times and love the food there. I've always had a good experience there; except I went there last weekend on a freezing night and the manager/owner told my wife and I to wait outside for 10 to 15 minutes and then come in.

It was freezing outside 25 to 30 degrees. I moved out of the way of the door yet he was rude and insistent that I wait outside; even raising his voice a bit. I was very surprised that he would treat a steady customer like myself like that; afterall, this is no inexpensive restaurant

Not only that, but there was a family of 3 directly in front of the door, but he said nothing to them.

He was our waiter, and he did apologize and said he would make it up to us. I thought perhaps we might get a 5 or 10% discount off our bill, but that never happened.

This has nothing to do with the food. I love the food there. It's cooked to perfection.

It's just that when you go to a place and know it's going to cost you and your wife $90 to $100 you don't expect to be talked to by the manager/owner rudely and told to wait outside on a freezing night; not fair to my wife; or myself.

I left him a 20% tip and left. I wouldn't have minded waiting outside in warm weather.

There was room inside for me to stand, the other couple was not spoken to and remained in front of the door the whole time until they were seated, and the manager/owner never made any concession as he said he would when he took our order. These 3 things left me disenchanted to rush going back there.

5 stars for the food, 2 for how we...

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Period. I don't come here enough, but that is because the wait (because of how good it is...) is not always part of my allowable schedule.

The black pasta and dishes served at the perfect temperature and the excellent (friendly) and fast service are just two of their high points. They have a good though small wine list (it's well selected considering it's size) and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting.

I go when I go for the seafood, as it is fabulous. Side dishes are good, and the bread is above average (it's not a bakery, so...) but that's not their strength. Seafood and black pasta.

For me the portions are just fine, but if you are used to more of the "factory" Italian restaurants, then you might want to add an appetizer and or an encore sweet or something like that.

I also like the fact that the kitchen is visible from the table area.

I think it's priced just right, and I also do like their North End location, though it's tougher to park there, obviously.

Give them a try, just check Google for the "busy" times. IF you do have to wait a little, it will be worth it, and there's plenty of sidewalk room out front, and parking (meters) and side-streets isn't so bad. If you don't park at a meter, Brookline gives you about 2 hours of street...
