Tatte, tatte, tatte⦠this place could clearly be something special but quality control has not been optimized here. I imagine the consistency of this place around the city varies. During my stay in Boston I stopped here once if not twice a day. My feelings about this place are mixed. The drinks we had were consistent and yummy. I can recommend the flat white; their house latte (borderline too sweet for my taste); as well as their iced beetroot latte (with oat milk). Note: the beetroot latte IS about 20% too sweet for me. Food here is *good enough*. Some eggs were overcooked. The shakshuka had one medium and one poached egg. Do not order prosciutto and pea tartine: you will be disappointed. It was severely unbalanced: not enough salt or acid. The Halumi crunch salad was just barely not good enough. It felt like it had been sitting in dressing for a too long and the cheese wasnāt actually crisp or crunchy. Tatte was definitely better than other cafĆ©s we stopped at nearby. Their lamb hash was pretty good (more acid please) as well as the shakshuka. We tried one passionfruit dessert that was prettier than tastyā underwhelming and too sweet. Croissants here are good enough: had the two best bites of my pistachio croissant been the entire experience I would recommend.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe on Beacon Street is consistently disappointing, with busy crowds and food that never exceeds mediocrity. It caters to a specific audience, but for those seeking more than average fare and ambiance, it falls short. Full/Extended Version: Having visited three different Tatte locations, including the one on Beacon Street, my experiences have consistently left me underwhelmed and occasionally frustrated. This particular franchise, like its counterparts, is perpetually bustling, which can be off-putting for those seeking a more relaxed dining experience. While Tatte has its loyal following, I find that its offerings, while decent, never quite reach the level of exceptional. Tatte seems to cater to a specific niche, one that values convenience and a certain aesthetic over culinary excellence. As with Starbucks or Chipotle, Tatte draws in a devoted clientele that appreciates its consistent, if unremarkable, fare. For those already familiar with and fond of Tatte, my opinion is unlikely to sway them. They know what they like, and Tatte delivers that reliably. However, for someone like myself who values the experience of dining in matters of taste, service, and ambience, Tatte falls flat. The interior is pleasant enough but lacks the charm or character that would make it stand out. The service is efficient but not particularly warm or welcoming. And the food, while tolerable, never ventures beyond the realm of ordinary. Tatte Bakery & Cafe on Beacon Street is a place I would only visit if all other options were exhausted or if someone I was with strongly preferred it. It's not a destination for me, lacking the special qualities that would make it a memorable dining experience. --- You can find me on Insta: @imdanielyoon

Tatte did not disappoint! My daughter and I stopped in to this Brookline Beacon street location on a Friday for a late brunch. They have nice patio for outdoor seating and did a good job spacing out the tables inside. The inside was clean and hand sanitizer was prominently placed for customers to use. Even at 1:30 it was full, but we were still able to find a table. The young lady taking our order was nice, and the man who delivered the food to our table was pleasant as well. I know people have mentioned the wait, but the line was short and our food arrived to our table within 10 minutes. The highlight was the food! We ordered the lamb hash, the roasted peach tartine, eggs and prosciutto, and a chocolate croissant (we wanted to try a few different dishes and a pastry). We washed it all down with iced cold brews. Everything was excellent! Tatte lived up to its fabulous reputation! My daughter is already planning another trip before she heads to college in a few weeks. Be sure to go when they have brunch.

I visited this tiny Tatte at least a dozen of times and always left with mixed emotions. It's a very small place and there's not a lot of tables and sitting spots. It's almost always extremely crowded with people waiting for free spots and standing in the middle, blocking the way to the counter. It's incredibly loud, too. The service is often rude and visibly untrained. It seems like an accidental group of people who were just hired. They are certainly not helpful and do not really fit with the image of a European-style patisserie/bakery which Tatte supposedly aims for. The only good thing about Tatte are the pastries which are so wonderful that they kept me coming back willing to go through the noise, crowds, and bad service.
