I like bubble tea and had great experiences at other TBaar stores. But one staff at 1038 Beacon was so rude and unprofessional. I called 11:27am (store hours saying 11am-8pm) and tried to put an order for Crepe. The staff said with an extremely impatient and sarcastic tone "The crepe does not open until 11:30, OKAY? You cannot pick it up." He did not let me ask follow up questions. His voice was so angry as if I owe him money. I don't know what happened to him. Maybe he is having a bad day. Maybe other staff at the store are fine. It is a difficult time for everyone, especially for people who work at cafes or restaurants. I don't blame him. But I am absolutely not interested in getting verbal abuse from this place again, and I don't trust the drink/food quality from a place where employees are angry or unhappy.
——————————————————— Below is my follow up to the owner after the owner posted a reply to my initial review:
Dear Owner,
Thank you for your reply. As I already stated in my review above, I do not blame the employee. On the contrary, I totally understand how stressful it is to work and to run a business in the current circumstances, for you and your employees.
You said you searched for my name and checked what other food reviews I wrote and found this is my first review. You probably spent quite some time on that. Indeed, I am a customer who would not bother writing a review except when I had a very unusual experience. If you reach out to all the customers who wrote in this google page about the rude services received at your store one by one, you will probably get even more helpful feedback.
In any case, I appreciated your invitation to visiting the store another time.
An extra note to the staff:
Dear Employees,
I wanted to let you know that there is not hard feelings to anyone of you personally. Actually, I probably could understand even more how stressful your working environment is after reading the owner’s response to my initial review. In service industry, the staff’s emotional well-being is a direct reflection of how much respect they receive from management or employers. Please, if you need help, reach out to local...

Drinks – Fresh & Flavorful 🍓🥭 Their Strawberry and Golden Pineapple drinks are made with real fresh fruit, making them a refreshing and vibrant treat. The fruit flavors shine through, delivering a natural sweetness without being overly sugary. Perfectly balanced and great for a winter pick-me-up! Chinese Crepe (Jianbing) – A Must-Try! 🥞✨ The Jianbing, a traditional Chinese street food, was huge—literally the size of my head! 😱 It came packed with egg, sausage, and pork floss, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. The crepe itself was light and crispy on the outside while holding all the savory goodness inside. It had a great mix of textures and flavors, from the soft egg to the slightly crunchy pork floss, and was well-seasoned without being too overpowering. Definitely a solid 8/10 and something I’d come back for! Final Thoughts 💯 With its unique offerings and authentic flavors, Tbaar stands out in Brookline’s food scene. Whether you’re stopping by for a fresh fruit drink or a filling Chinese crepe, this spot is worth a visit. I highly recommend checking them out! ⭐ Food: 8/10 ⭐ Drinks: 9/10 ⭐ Ambiance: 5/10 ⭐...
Read moreThis place is easy to miss as its in the ground level & seems like any other bubble tea place (which were really good) but what made us come back the next morning were the chinese crepes Tianjin style (Jianbing Guozi) - just awesome crepe wrap with egg, a crispy wafer, & sausages (there was a choice of chicken & pork as well). Amazing. Just as good as i had once on the streets of Tianjin (ok maybe not as good but close). Definitely worth making this a stop for bubble tea needs & a nice eggy breakfast option. The crepes are served all day. Let me add this was the only place i have had totally unsweetened bubble tree which is hard to find because in most places even if the milk is unsweetened, the bubbles themselves are...
