I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Old Philly Town Cheese Steak restaurant, and I can't help but sing its praises. From the first bite to the last, this place delivered an unforgettable cheesesteak experience that truly captures the essence of Philadelphia's culinary heritage.
The star of the show, of course, is their signature Slam cheesesteak. The thinly sliced, tender ribeye steak was cooked to perfection and nestled within a soft, freshly baked roll. The blend of flavors and textures was simply divine. Every bite was a harmonious mix of savory, juicy meat, gooey melted cheese, and just the right amount of sautéed onions and peppers. It's evident that Old Philly Town takes immense pride in crafting this iconic sandwich with the utmost care and attention to detail.
The menu offers a variety of options to suit different tastes, from the classic cheesesteak to creative variations that showcase the restaurant's commitment to innovation while respecting tradition. Whether you prefer it with peppers or without you're in for a mouthwatering treat.
The service at Old Philly Town was equally praiseworthy. The staff was attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about their menu, providing recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch.
In conclusion, Old Philly Town Cheese Steak restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Philadelphia. Their cheesesteaks are a culinary masterpiece that pays homage to this beloved American classic. The combination of fantastic flavors, warm hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a standout dining destination. Whether you're a cheesesteak connoisseur or just looking for a memorable meal, don't miss the opportunity to savor the delectable delights of Old...
Read moreI've been coming to this place for 22 years. It is known only by the name "the philly cheese steak place" in my family.
You're not going to find a better cheese steak in all of Colorado. The steak quality is absolutely top notch. They bring out the sandwich to you and it's still steaming and it's chopped to just the perfect fineness, no large gross chewy chunks here. Pepper cheese steak with hot peppers has always been my go to.
Recently we tried out the new taste of Philly up near the Costco that was supposedly rated 4.5 stars and I was reminded about how much worse the competition tastes. It was also $7 more for the same size sandwich.
I have no idea how old town keeps their prices so cheap and tastes soo good at the same time, but they do! Just $11 for a 10"er.
I've eaten here at least over 100 times and have never had a bad experience. If you're not getting a cheese steak your mileage may vary, but why are you even coming here then?
It's hard to believe they actually used to be better. The bread quality and meat quality dropped a little in the 2010s and the bread quality dropped a little a couple years ago when they switched vendors. Even so it still tastes outstanding and the restaurant is still well deserving of my family's title of "the philly cheese...
Read moreAnother update: of course we gave it another shot because we have always loved this place. It was fantastic just like I remembered it used to be. Please be consistent and don’t be stingy with the meat. Our sandwiches were fresh and packed. Delicious. We will be back.
Update: we gave it another try and sadly nothing has changed. We also ordered french fries and they were hard cold and old. Maybe because this was later in the evening I don’t know but this place used to be so great, what happened?
We usually have a good experience here, but sadly this time the quantity and quality was lacking. We were able to move the meat (the slam) to one side of the sandwich because it was mostly bread. So it was more like a 4/5 inch sandwich instead of an 8. The flavor was lacking as well. We also had the chicken slam in the order and that one was good. Not sure why the two regular slams were not made the same. Disappointed but will give it another chance...
