The service I received this morning was absolutely appalling. I literally just rolled out of bed, so Im aware I looked disheveled, but despite my appearance, I was nothing but professional in ordering my breakfast. There was a hickup with the payment process not even on my end and the side eyes start. Its whatever I've paid just give me my breakfast and Ill go. Unfortunately, though there must have been a mistake as I didnt receive the simple breakfast I had ordered; a single bacon egg and potatoe speacial. Instead, I received a dry burrito. Unhappy with my breakfast and knowing what to expect from my order i politely went back. "Good morning, there must have been a mistake this isnt what I ordered." Eyerolls immediately. Shoots a look at the other cashier they start laughing. Now their attention is back on me they ask whats wrong. I say i wanted this burrito special and the first 3 bites have been dry. Looks at the burrito sees cheese and says that it is chilli. I say ive bitten it and its dry. Takes it to the back all the while talking under her breath and clearly unhappy to have to serve me. Comes back hands me a burrito and despite my experience I thank her for fixing it for me only to get in the car and realize im clearly being played with. Still unhappy with my breakfast and unwilling to confront such shitty service Ill be eating elsewhere...
Read moreYay yay yay! A Tamale Kitchen has opened in Broomfield! We've been going to the one in Westminster for over 7 years, but that's 20 minutes away even for a really good lunch (95% lunch for us, but it's open all kinds of hours).
Food: I'd class it as "fast casual": You order at a counter, then sit and wait. Plenty of room. Takeout too, of course.
The menu is your basic Mex - tacos, burritos, tamales, etc. - plus menudo & posole. All is much higher quality than your standard fast food joint. I really like the posole, and every time we go, which is at least once a week, my wife gets the "Mexican Eggroll". Sounds strange, tastes wonderful. The barbacoa taco is also a favorite of mine, with meat that is juicy and flavorful.
The pics are exterior & interior shots, plus a Mexican Eggroll and a combo 4 plate - burrito, enchilada, and taco, the latter not visible.
The biggest problem with it is finding it; took us three tries. It's at the intersection of 287 and Midway, SW corner. This sounds simple, but it's well hidden behind a Circle K at the same SW corner. Very hard to see from 287. But continue through on Midway to the West, first left, and it's in your face on the left.
Great food, great service. Highly recommended.
Oh, and say "Hi" to Molly (Westminster) or Rosanna (Broomfield) for us. They've become good friends over the years of...
Read moreTerrible- hotter than the sun inside. Need to invest in some window shades. The dining area had nothing but tables, chairs and trash cans. Very uninviting. No napkins, salsa, salt/ pepper, nothing. Lots of signs advertising their food tho. We ordered a soft drink it came in a small cup filled to the brim with ice and when my husband took a sip from the straw about 1/4 spilled out onto the table. No napkins to clean it up and they wouldn’t fill the cup back up for free. The signs didn’t show any drinks. The drink coolers had a strange hodge podge of random items like diet Dr Pepper but not regular Dr Pepper. We couldn’t stay and enjoy our food because we were suffocating in the heat so we took our very over priced food home. Got home and my husband’s order was wrong. He ordered green chili on his enchiladas. His cheese wasn’t melted either. Poor quality dining experience. Won’t be back and...
