Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Brownsville

Food was alright, last night my Fiance and i decided to have a date night since we don't often go out and decided to give Applebee's a try. As soon as we arrived we were seated which was great but it took our server a while to take our order, ordered drinks those came out fast.. When she finally came to our table we knew what we wanted to order but as soon as we ordered instead of sending our orders to the kitchen i think the gossip was more important than the customers, she was just standing around. Our food took more than 30 minutes while our server kept on chit chatting and getting distracted with other workers when we needed re fills, utensils, etc. Until i was visibly annoyed because she was no where to be seen most of the time... So we proceeded to ask when our food was going to be ready in a polite manner when we finally got the chance to call her because we were already hungry. she said it was going to already be ready, but because of her being distracted she didn't get the food when it was already ready from the kitchen and our food arrived cold. the pasta was somewhat cooked but not fully it was somewhat hard and she was not attentive with us is why i'm leaving a review the atmosphere was okay but i wasn't really comfortable . The food was great. The fries were not so fresh but whatever. The service, however, was terrible. Was probably just the team that was working today on Sunday. There was a female server and a male bartender. There was nobody to greet us at the door. Which is whatever you know. I worked the restaurant industry for almost 11 years now so I know how it is. We sat ourselves and patiently waited and I was being patient but after 15 minutes and multiple eye-contacts nobody acknowledged us. I came in at around 10:35 and happy hour ended at 11. At 10:51 I had to order at the bar because I didn’t wanna miss out on the specials. After couple of minutes I finally ask the bartender who is gonna take care of us and he stepped up to take the table. Me and my family would love to come back but geez this was so ackward. Just trying to get service. Btw we never got silverware. Never got napkins. We didn’t ask for them but it’s not something you ask for it’s supposed to be given. And once the food is on the table you already know you gotta flag down the waiter to get service when they should be making sure. Just terrible service. I wish I could of left a good tip but it feels like my hard earned money isn’t...

First of all, there was no one when we got there. I don't understand how you could mess up a party of two. Our server was prioritizing the table in front of us the whole time. I understand that they were a bigger table but we're equally as important as them. We ordered right away and instead of putting our food in she proceeded to make about 4 to 5 alcoholic drinks for the table in front of us. The food took 30 minutes to come out despite there only being about 4 parties that had already been served. We asked her for mayo and mustard and 20 minutes passed by and she never came, again she was making more alcoholic beverages for the table in front of us. It was a simple request, mustard, and mayo by the time my friend finished his food she still never brought the mayo or mustard. The people in front of us were drunk by the end of our night there. She also took my food which I WASN'T even done with yet, she didn't ask she just took it. We didn't even bother tipping because the service was atrocious. She never checked in our dirty dishes and sat there until we finished. I even made it easy for her by stacking everything and cleaning up so all she had to do was...
