Exceptional Experience and Flawless Food at Kuyashii Ramen! Rating: (5/5) We recently dined at Kuyashii ramen for mother’s day… and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The food, service, and ambiance were all top-notch, making it a memorable visit. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. Let's dive into the highlights of my visit: Food: The star of the show was undoubtedly the Chile de Árbol Ramen. It struck the perfect balance between flavor and spice, delivering a delightful kick without overwhelming the taste buds. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the broth was rich and savory. The ample amount of meat in the ramen was a pleasant surprise and definitely set Kuyashii Ramen apart from other places. The Birria Bao Buns were an absolute delight. The tender, flavorful birria paired wonderfully with the soft, fluffy buns. It was a delicious fusion of flavors that left me craving for more. Additionally, the Ceviche Tostada was a refreshing and zesty appetizer, perfectly complementing the richness of the ramen. Service: The service at Kuyashii Ramen was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than willing to answer any questions and offer recommendations based on personal preferences. Drinks: Although we opted for water on this visit, the drink menu at Kuyashii Ramen intrigued us. It's clear that they put thought and effort into crafting a beverage selection that complements their exceptional food. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to sample their drink offerings, which I'm sure will enhance the overall experience even further. Overall, Kuyashii Ramen has certainly earned my highest recommendation. With its outstanding Chile de Árbol Ramen, delicious Birria Bao Buns, and exceptional service, it's a true gem for ramen enthusiasts. Make sure to visit Kuyashii Ramen, and don't forget to explore their tantalizing drink options to complete your...

I used to like coming to this place, but unfortunately, it hasn't changed some of the reasons why I despise it today.

First, the food. The "bao buns" they serve aren't even what you would expect. Its just dough in the shape of a small taco, served like a small taco, and you only get two of them. Not worth the $10. The ramen, which is a staple of these types of restaurants, went from amazing to subpar. The eggs that come with the ramen tastes bitter now, and the shoyu tonkotsu ramen, of all ingredients they could have chosen, is served with ground pork. Seriously? Ground pork? What's funny is that their menu hides this by calling it ginger pork. Pork chashu would have done just fine, but I don't know if they were the types to open this restaurant with the thought of making the food with an "RGV/Mexican twist" to it.

Service is just like any other restaurant, but when it comes to ordering your food, you can't order your food with some ingredients replaced/removed. I used to be able to order my ramen with pork chashu instead of ground pork, but at some point in late April, store policy change and now you aren't allowed to ask. But they will happily charge you the ingredients separately.

The only thing that the restaurant has that is redeemable (apart from the murals that depict the stereotypical weeb interpretation of japan) is its atmosphere. For a ramen shop, you would expect this place to be filled with actual nerds and weeaboos, but surprisingly, I've seen people of all ages here that look normal.

I've heard of a new ramen shop opening by the edge of Brownsville that encompasses the traditional ramen shop (allowing people to build their ramen bowl), but I'm not sue when it will open. Until then, I guess this is the best we have for a ramen shop in...

We’re from Hawaii and absolutely love ramen so we were excited to find this place. My husband and I really wanted to like the food. Let me start with saying that I don’t like spicy food (husband loves it) and normally that isn’t an issue when eating at a ramen shop. The food looks amazing (posted pics) but it is pricey. Love the artwork, music is loud, and we liked our drinks. The short ribs were okay, a bit bland but it does come with a dipping sauce which my husband liked (sauce was spicy). For the price we paid it should have came with rice, but that’s something you need to order ala carte. The pork buns were amazing, but I had to remove the spicy tamarind in order to eat it. Other than that the pork was delicious and this is the only dish I’d order again. The ramen was a miss for us. My husband had the spicy birria tonkotsu and I had the miso tonkotsu. I was a bit taken aback by the flavor as I read reviews saying that the broth was flavorless. Ours was not, it was way too salty. The bamboo shoots seemed to be marinated in some type of shoyu sauce and in the already salty broth it was too much. It was so overpowering and every noodle had absorbed that flavor so I couldn’t finish my bowl. Normally my husbands bowl is empty as he likes to drink the broth, he couldn’t do that with this ramen. A bit of tweaking to the broth and it could be great.
