I didn't want to write this review, but this has happened multiple times... placed an order for a 10 pack of burgers for a company luncheon ahead of time, and showed up a few minutes after the "ready" time to give the location a few extra minutes, as this location is slower than others in the area. I check in to receive my order curbside... wait 15 minutes, and nobody comes out. I end up having to call the store, and the person who answers the phone, "Patty", tries essentially clueless as to how to respond. At this point, it's been 30 minutes since the order has been placed, and it is clear that they never saw the ticket. She tried to blame it on that it was not scheduled to be ready for "eight hundred minutes", and then for a moment I suspect she thinks it's going to be picked-up by a service, not a customer. Long story short, this is not the first time this has happened at this location. This used to be one of the better locations in the area, and it's just been going downhill over the years in terms of a customer service aspect. If you didn't see the order, just say "we didn't see it." If you didn't see that we checked in, just say "We're sorry, we missed that you checked in." Don't try to blame it on me or come up with excuses. Just accept the blame, and move on. Unacceptable...
Read moreI'm 63 now, and Whataburger has always been a "must go" for me whenever I return to visit family and friends in the RGV. I remember going to the original joint at the corner of Boca Chica and Palm Blvds in Brownsville when I was a kid in the 1960s (and then going to the Charro Drive-In with a trunk-full of amigos...) So the place is engrained in my culinary soul. But after this year's visit, I concluded that I was either less discriminating about burgers and fries when I was young, or more hungry, or both. Don't get me wrong~ I had a jalapeño burger and large fries this time, and they were respectable. They just weren't "Wow" in any way. Large patty, slightly greasy, with iceberg lettuce, undistinguished tomato and pickle slices and a few jalapeños, all inside a too-soft, slightly sweet white-flour bun. The average sober home BBQer could do a lot better on the grill in the backyard, using only decent store-bought ingredients. Also, I understand the chain has been bought by a Chicago corporation, so there's no longer any local sensibility or accountability about the food. I suppose everything changes, just not always for...
Read morethis Whataburger location is the closest to my house - minutes away which is why it would’ve been perfect if their customer service was good and if they could get orders right. been to this location endless of times but every single time I come, my order is wrong or very late. Employees are ALWAYS rude. After months of not coming here, this weekend I decided to give things a try to see if the service was better and I sure do regret it. Again. Cashier was rude. Acted as if he did not want to be working or attending people. Requested crispy fries in an order and they were regular. Upon entering, I saw two customers who were clearly upset too. I overheard them asking why their orders were taking long. My own order was late and wrong. I do not think making a #5 is too much work…. I mean, I was once a Whataburger employee too. No excuses. Overall, I do not think I will give them any other benefit of the doubt and come back to this location unless I truly,...
