The first server gave us the menus and took our drink order, then a different server brought the drinks and said she’d be our server today. When we were about to order a pasta dish, the server said, “Oh…the other server must not have told you…we’re all out of Pasta.” (They were also out of one other thing which I can’t remember.) Because of this, the other three people in my party changed their orders to burgers, each with slight specific ingredients/instructions.
It seemed like a while for our food to come out (probably because of stupid DoorDash orders), when it did, we couldn’t figure out who’s burger was who’s, because they all looked the same and the sauce that came on two of them seemed the same (but they weren’t supposed to be…spicy vs non-spicy)…the third burger without sauce was under cooked from what my friend wanted. I asked my friend if the server asked how they wanted the burger cooked (because most places do that), she said no, they didn’t. It was also soggy. One of my friends with the burger with the spicy sauce, can’t handle spicy food. It was supposed to be a burger with lots of bacon 🥓, but it only came with one extra piece then the other burgers! 3 vs 2! It looked nothing like burger in the picture. So that was a waste. I told them they should send it back. They were adamant not to.
Fries were lukewarm.
As far as my order goes, the shrimp was a decent size and you got enough basically (I ate two or three before I took the picture), but the fries and Coleslaw serving was appallingly small. Maybe they’re trying to spread it thin until their next shipment comes in. It’s ridiculous. Most likely though, it’s the company cutting costs.
I don’t remember having these same issues with food with the Applebees in Augusta. It’s possible I didn’t order the same thing, idk.
Personally, I would not go here again and would rather eat at one of their competitors. My friends say they like the place and will still go back though.
On the plus side, the servers were nice, as well as the manager, who said he could only offer a 10% discount. My friend was content with that.
I’m giving it a 3 stars, even though I feel it deserves more like 2 stars. There’s so many other locally owned (non-chain/small chain) restaurants that are great, that you don’t need to subject yourself to this sort of...
Read moreI was going through the application process at Applebee's and I was really disappointed with the lack of professionalism from the managerial staff.
To start, I called ahead and scheduled a time I could come in and hand my resume directly to a manager, which was Barbara. On first impression the chances of me working there seemed promising. The meeting went smoothly, she seemed interested in employing me and scheduled me and interview with Dave for 2 days later.
I arrived at my interview 10 minutes early and asked the host for Dave. Dave came out to meet me, but was clueless about our interview. He also told me we couldn't have an official interview until I applied online (a little tid bit Barbara forgot to mention), which takes at least 24 hours to process. We only had time for a small chat and then I left and went home.
After commuting 30 minutes each way, I got home. Feeling a little bothered by their lack of communication I later called Barbara. I told her I felt I had wasted my time due to their lack of communication and wasn't quite convinced about applying online. She took little blame for her part in the miscommunication and said that she had cleared it with Dave. I told her Dave was seemingly unaware when I arrived. I said I felt my professionalism wasn't really being met mutually seeing as no one was willing to take blame for the situation or offer me any sort of compensation for wasting my whole day and plans I had the previous night. She retorted that "sometimes things slip through the cracks, that's just life." and that she couldn't in any way compensate me at all.
I told her if wasting my time isn't viewed as any sort of issue then I have no interest in working at their establishment.
Sorry these issues couldn't have been...
Read moreAwful. Just awful. Despite the place not even being busy when we went, our food (well most of it) took forever to come out. Once it did come out, it was three of the four entrees, and the appetizers, all at the same time and all cold. They had forgotten one of the meals (mine). The waitress rushed to get the order back in, and once it came out it (twenty minutes in, and after everyone else was done eating what they were going to of their cold, unpleasant meals) was absolutely terrible. Completely inedible. My two kids ordered cheeseburgers and French fries and wouldn't even eat them, despite that being their go-to when we eat out somewhere. How the hell do you screw that up? I sent it back and didn't order anything else as we were already running later than anticipated. They did remove that item from the bill, but once I started looking at the bill itself I noticed they had charged us individually for the sides that were supposed to come with the meals, without telling us this was going to be the case.
While we were there the table next to us (vegetarians who made a point of saying so and explaining that that's why they were ordering their meals the way they were) were served meals with meat, which they weren't aware of until actually starting to eat.
Will never go again, and will be writing to Applebee's corporate to complain. Do yourself a favor and go to 99 instead. Or cut some cheap hotdogs up into some store brand boxed macaroni and cheese, which would still be an improvement. I don't expect five star dining at Applebee's, but I do expect food that comes as ordered, doesn't taste like it was slapped together and "cooked" in a dirty microwave, and to pay a reasonable...
