Where do I start... From the moment we walked in and we're greeted with a friendly hello I knew this was going to be a great new favorite spot, and that my friends is a definite understatement! Old World Deli What????!!!!! Everything we had was so good and so fresh! The owners Andy and Rania Zarzour have been in business at this location for the past 25 years and previously at Parmatown mall for 15 years when it was owned by Andy's parents. Spinach pies... WOW so fresh and absolutely delicious! They can add feta for you for a small upcharge. Soooooo good! The hummus served with pita and the tabouli were equally delicious and so fresh! My son went absolutely nuts for the falafel and the meatless stuffed grape leaves! Believe me he will tell you if they don't taste good and he Loves everything he ate today!!! We also enjoyed the sweet potato fries, breaded mushrooms and the yummy sauerkraut balls. My husband had a Texas turkey panini which was filled with turkey, sliced onions, and tomato and cheese with a chipotle mayo so good! Seating is limited so get there early. You guys this is a definite must!!! Next time I will try the gyro or corned beef that I heard everyone sitting around us raving about. Absolutely amazing food! I wish I could give this place more stars. This is one of the best experiences I have had getting food. The place is contactless which I didn’t know so when I attempted to enter the establishment a voice came over the speaker softly letting me know. It was Andy the owner of this wonderful place for over 20 years. His kindness could be heard even though I had yet to see him. He was patient and made recommendations then I placed my order. I got the Reuben. I am an aficionado of the sandwich and had done my research on the best ones in town since I am new to the area. Everyone said Old World was the place. As I waited outside Andy came out (socially distanced of course) and regaled me with stories and hilarious conversation. He asked about me, told me about the restaurant and we laughed together. My food was ready and I found myself not wanting to leave. As I drove home smiling from the interaction I thought that is what life is all about...human connection. I got home and proceeded to eat one of the best Reuben sandwiches I have ever eaten. The meat was fresh and tender, the delicious rye was buttery and toasted to perfection, the sauerkraut was juicy and authentic. I smiled some more. It was served with a big crisp pickle and side of chips. The delightful coleslaw should be mentioned as well. Putting a little candy in the bag was a nice touch and indicative of their thoughtful presence. Going here really made my day today in more ways than one. I cannot say enough good things about Old World Deli, the owners, and the staff! I hosted my family this year for Christmas, my husband and I have eaten at Old world deli for years and are always satisfied and pleased with our orders so we decided to try their catering menu and wow I wish we would have used them for all of our past large family gathering and events! The kielbasa was well seasoned and absolutely delicious! The pierogi's were comforting and paired perfectly with their tangy and scrumptious sauerkraut I can go on and on and on!!!!!! The portions and the value far exceeded our expectations along with how friendly the staff and owners were. We will be coming back not only for their incredible sandwiches and soups but for their fantastic catering services.
