Ordered takeout for dinner. Dumplings, general Tsos, sesame chicken, fried rice, large wonton soup, and crab puff.
Pork dumplings = a bit greasy, meat was dry and grainy, gingery/sweet flavor, good meat to wrap ratio, nice sear on the dumplings.
General tso chicken = flavorless, had barely any spice too it, dry, unevenly cut pieces (wish they were all small).
Sesame chicken = flavorless, dry, unevenly cut pieces (wish they were all small).
Fried rice (side that came with sesame and general tso) = mediocre. Not the worst I've had in CStat, but nowhere near the best. Think like a step down from fried rice that you'd get from the Woodlands, tx Mall.
Large Wonton Soup = Wayyyyyy too much cabbage. Seriously. It was a cabbage soup with wontons not wonton soup with cabbage. The amount of cabbage changed the flavor and the smell of the soup to where it smelled like boiled cabbage. The wontons itself were fine. The filling had the same issue the dumplings had.
Crab puffs = fine. The wrapper texturally seemed almost a bit stale.
Would not eat here again. There's a lot of better places than this. This is one of the worst places I've had in CStat/Bryan. Not the worst I've ever had, but this is among the bottom of my list of Chinese...
Read moreI ordered food for delivery after about 40 minutes I called cause it hadn’t arrived. They answered and a woman told me oh he’s on the way just a few more minutes. About 45 minutes after ordering I got my food and first thing I noticed was my rice was cold. It’s cooked but cold, like it’s been sitting in the container for a while. I start eating and then look down an notice fried shrimp by sweet and sour chicken. All I order was the sweet and sour chicken combo with fried rice. I’ve attached a photo of the order as well as a photo of the shrimp and a photo of my call long showing I have tried to call them 4 times since finding the shrimp to let them know. They never answered any of the times I called. I have a shellfish allergy and unfortunately had to throw away the rest of the food for my safety. Just be ware when ordering if you have allergies and such. Money wasted and potentially a trip to the ER. And they won’t even answer the phone so I can make them aware so they don’t...
Read morePleasantly surprised! This place is easy to overlook, but definitely worth a try. It's probably our favorite take-out Chinese place now. All the food we tried was more authentic than what you usually get at Chinese places in the US. We had the Kung Pao chicken, spicy deep fried chicken, and Pla-Sam-Rod, along with Tom Kha soup, pork dumplings, and lo mein noodles.
The kung pao was great - it wasn't sweet like the Americanized kung pao I usually get. The texture would probably be better getting it fresh in the restaurant since the moisture in the to-go container container makes it a little soggy.
The Pla-Sam-Rod and spicy deep fried chicken were both really good too. Watch out for the bones in this chicken dish - that's the traditional way to make it!
The soup was a bit of a downer and the dumplings were dense, but mild on flavor.
Good quantity for the price, pretty good quality, great taste - 4 or...
