Madden's casual gourmet — Restaurant in Bryan

I realize that it is a new place so this review is meant to help them improve.

I have lived in Houston for 50 years and traveled the world and been to almost every continent. The food and service in houston is some of the best because of the number of restaurants per capita and the international clientele.

The best comparison I can make for this place is McCormick and Schmick in houston and while this place has the atmosphere, it does not have the service. The food quality while good does not justify it's price. The crab cakes scampi was two appetizer size crab cakes with 5 shrimp. The crab cakes were really good but really small. Focus on the crab cakes and not the shrimp and massive amount of zucchini. The filet mignon was good. The fried chicken was good as well. Not enough flavor or salt.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend who has lived in college station for over 40 years. She knew the venue as the country club, and was eager to try out this new restaurant.
