I think you should know: It all ended for me as soon as the waitress rolled her eyes at me. Here is my side of the story. Some friends came in from out of town and asked to go to get something to eat. I thought it would be nice to go to the verrado grill. Everything was fine throughout the meal as a matter of fact the waitress kept my drink full which is a difficult thing to do as I drink a lot of tea. Things felt a little odd when the bill showed up before we even asked for it and before we were asked if we wanted dessert. The bill was dropped off and the waitress left, I'm sure she said something like here's your bill thank you very much that type of thing. The problem is there was six of us and I was only going to pay for myself and my wife. After a little while I spotted our waitress and raised my hand. She saw me and came over quickly, I informed her we needed to split the bill. My friend explain that from the kids over it was one bill. I felt a hesitation from the waitress as if she did not want to split the bill. She took the original bill nonetheless, and she came back with two bills. The total was split down the middle. Again, there's six of us and I am only paying for two. At this point I can feel my adrenaline pumping and I can't believe how this simple task has become an issue. I explained to the waitress that something is off, through her glasses both my wife and I saw her roll her eyes at me and said it split and there's only a dollar difference between the two bills. I am a halfway intelligent man. I understand how it was split and where the error was made. I made it known to her that there was a mistake and I stood there waiting for an answer from her. It felt like a long time, I think she understood she made a mistake but didn't understand that I was willing to make a point of it. She rolled her eyes at me and that was game over for me. She spent my money without my permission. It's not the amount of money. I wipe my nose with $20. Because I was in mix company I decided after a moment in silence from her that I would just accept the bill and move on with my day. I like being able to get in and out of the verado grill in a timely fashion and the food is good so I will continue to go there but I will make it a point not to sit...
Read moreChris, our waiter was fantastic! We placed an order for Sauvignon Blanc wine and when delivered to table it looked a bit yellow. The taste was that of a Chardonnay. When Chris was questioned he returned the glass of wine to the bartender and brought out the bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and a fresh glass and poured a taste. Yes, this is Sauvignon Blanc. Much appreciated! When ordering a second glass of wine it was a repeat performance, Chardonnay instead of Sauvignon Blanc. Took the glass of wine into the bartender and she then poured the correct wine. Sadly to say that the table on the patio next to ours had the same issue, to which Chris told them, hold on, I am going to have the bartender come out. A manager came out with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and poured almost a full glass and said that it looks like the same wine in both your glasses. He did not even let the customers try the newly poured wine and then took the newly poured glass of wine and the bottle back to the bar! Who in their right mind would not want the customer to taste the newly poured bottle of wine?? Ambiance is perfect as we were entertaining guests from out of state. Wings were great, unfortunately we ordered buffalo and they were out of buffalo sauce! Must have been a crowd on Super Bowl Sunday and WM golf finals Sunday, as this occurred on Monday afternoon. We improvised with dry rub wings and Cholula hot sauce. We ordered the Verrado beer on the happy hour menu and then were told that they ran out and did not have anymore kegs of it. Ordered other beers and to our surprise we were only charged the happy hour price. Sliders were amazing. Salsa was quite tasty. A great experience was accomplished by the attentiveness and kindness of Chris,...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I have lived in Verrado for the past 10 years and have eaten there endless times. Me and my friends have breakfast and lunch here twice weekly and all servers know us by our first name to the point we don't even need to order because they know what we like!!!! Yes, we go here that often. Over the past two Saturdays after our daughters flag football game we head that way for breakfast and lunch. Three families, Hispanics and African American, we have been treated like second class citizens. We were told to be quiet while sitting outside ( spoken like we are children )and today we were yelled at for our kids speaking loudly. The person they are referring to who was loud is my best friends daughter. She us 10 and severely non verbal autistic!!!! The waitress "Desi" yelled across the bar to our kids over and over again and snaped at them that they needed to use theur indoor voice. Now you tell me, how do you think the story ends? That only got our girl more agrevated and we had to step in. Needless to say, the waitress and the gentleman in charge of lunch service were relentless about going after an autistic child. Hope God bless them with never knowing what a parent feels about getting ridiculed in front of another 20 plus customers on a Saturday at 1 pm because of having a child with different needs. Not only did they loose regular customers but we are filling a formal complain for discrimination. Please, do not give them your business because they truly do not...
