Jersey Mike's subs recently opened up at the new shopping center which used to be occupied by Nationals Sports Bar. It's located adjacent to a Starbucks and Chipotle, which I assume attracts lots of customers, trying to decide what they're in the mood for. Having never visited before, I had my bday coupon in hand and jovially drove east on Orangethorpe to see what's crackin.

Inside, the restaurant was clean, tidy and aesthetically pleasing, with minimal seating inside and out. Not a good spot for large parties. A couple flatscreen TV's on the walls to entertain the sandwich eating masses. The sandwich assembly line efficiently has your sliced to order meats and fresh ingredients within your grasp in no time.

Here, in all it's glory, the Original Italian on white bread. Provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni, along with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and oregano. Yes sir, can I have another? Quality portions, fresh ingredients and great taste. Subway? Psshaw! Only if I'm taking the subway to get to a Jersey Mike's! You can taste the difference with freshly sliced over pre-sliced deli meats. Good from the first bite to the last. Oh yeah, bay-bee!

When I pay $20+ dollars on a sandwich it better be amazing. I have always loved Jersey mikes but the last 3 sandwiches I’ve gotten from this location have been awful! Super dry and over cooked bread ruined the whole thing. The first time I called and complained and was told I could come pick up a new sandwich for free. The original one I received had ridiculously dry bread. Like you picked it up and it crumbled apart. I picked up my new sandwich and it was okay. Still not great but because they were willing to try to make it right I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today when I ordered my sandwich this is what it looked like when it arrived. This is white bread, but it’s so over cooked it looks wheat. When I called to complain this time I was told “all our bread is baked fresh. Sorry you aren’t happy but next time I will make sure it’s perfectly baked.” Unfortunately there will be no next time for me. So so so...

I really like all Jersey Mikes, they have good fresh food at fairly inexpensive prices. This is why i choose to go here when we unexpectedly had several people show up at our house and we needed a quick bite to eat. I ordered 4 xlarge subs all the same and customer service at this location was great very helpful, until I got to pay for my sandwiches and for 4 x-large sandwiches was 60 something. I had no problem with that it wasn't until I gave her a hundred dollar bill, the cashier says to me we do not except 100 dollar bills. Wasn't even that they didn't except them. It was the attitude in which I was getting after that the nasty looks and rolling of her eyes her coping attitude with me. I was having a wonderful experience until the cashier came into play. Thank goodness another employee intervened and went to another business to get change. That is...
