I was so excited to go here! A secret spot that has fancy cocktails and takes reservations, sign me up! We got there about 5 minutes before our reservation. It was hard to find to we had to walk around for a few minutes until we saw the entrance as it wasn't clearly labelled. The hostess told us that our table would be ready in about 15 minutes. Not the end of the world, but she didn't apologize for the wait. When we got to our table, the space was gorgeous! I could not believe how awesome it was. The hostess even told us a bit about whiskey before we sat down. I also noticed when we sat down that there was already wine there. I wish the hostess had told us what the wine was because it was really good, and I was nervous it wasn't complementary. The waiter came over about 10 minutes later and helped us order some drinks. He was really friendly and even made me a zero proof cocktail. The drinks came out pretty fast too and were all super unique and delicious. We then asked him about some food and he told us he had to ask the chef a few questions and would get back to us. We were having a great time. But then the bartender didn't come over again for an hour and a half just to hand us our check. We were really disappointed by this! We were going to order food (he had told us he was coming back after talking to the chef), more drinks, and he never asked us how our drinks were. We wouldn't have minded too much, but they kick you out after 90 minutes to make room for other reservations. Our waiter/bartender was also taking shots behind the bar, so we wish he had spent more time paying attention to customers, instead of drinking. The other complaint was the temperature of the room. Midway through drinks the AC turned on and the room felt about 40 degrees. I really really wish we had a better experience because the drinks and the...
Read moreAs soon as I heard there was a âspeakeasyâ back in Buffalo, I HAD to go! Upon arrival, my friend Andrea and I walked into a large bar where allll of the bottles were perfectly arranged And in order which made for a tidy, clean & impressive arrival. We couldnât find the entrance to the barrel room so we wandered around a little and had to eventually ask someone! Lol. ( just as a speakeasy bar should be ) :). We were laughing so hard because how did we not see the door?! Ha! An employee Rachel was kind enough to assist us and brought us to where we needed to goâď¸.
We were sat at the bar (which is where we wanted to be) and was greeted with all smiles and some bubbly from Lauren the bartender. ( already, we were impressed!)
My drink of choice was ROOM 237! Which was a Mexican gin bubbly concoction which was so delicious! ( especially since I am not regularly a gin kind of person) It also came in a bathtub with a rubber ducky!!! ( like the bathroom scene in âthe shiningâ!! Hence the name of the drinkâď¸)
This bar is more on the intimate side ( with a 25 person cap.) There are seats at the bar or some small intimate tables around the room ( for larger groups). If youâre looking to have a full dinner, the front distillery is the place to be. The Barrel room is more about the creative drinks, quaint surroundings with a lite bite to eat. Since Iâm a vegetarian I had the âtomato toastâ ( which was grilled sourdough with tomato jam topped with goat milk Parmesan cheese) . I was laughing cause I had just ordered toast at a bar, BUTâŚ. It wasnât your ordinary toast & worth trying on your next visit!! Mmmmm mmmm.
Cheers to the staff for making this visit more than your average night out!!! It was just the â experience â we were...
Read moreI love the idea of this place. You walk into a bar/night club vibe and then head to the back room for a more chill evening. Unfortunately you can still hear and feel the bass from the bar. Itâs nice that you get a complimentary tasting of champagne. The bourbon menu is awesome but the house cocktails are meh and take a lot of time to make. The bartenders also need to refer to a guide to make the drinks. We arrived and were one of 2 parties in there (there were 2 of us). We received our drinks and then nothing. The bartenders were busy talking, doing shots and making drinks for themselves. The only way we got additional drinks was when we asked and flagged them down. Keep in mind that they have a 25 person max and we were literally sitting at the bar. They made it seem like an inconvenience to get us another drink. This place could be awesome if they paid more attention to the customer and less on drinking and socializing amongst themselves. When we were there, it was us (2 people) and a table of 6. There were 3-4 employees. They...
