Lockhouse Distillery and Bar — Restaurant in Buffalo

I seriously loved this place. Everything about it appealed to me: the lights, decor, graphic design, location, bartenders, drinks and music. If I could design a summer cocktail bar, Lockhouse Distillery would be it. I went as part of a pedal tour, which is by definition very obnoxious, but Lockhouse was incredibly gracious about our group party mentality. They had a special cocktail menu specifically for the tour and despite several of us descending on them at once, they still managed to deliver quality cocktails -- the Moscow Mule I had was probably the best I've tasted all summer.

I really love this place. Like, if they let me move in - I would. Gin is my drink of choice and they make the best in the city. They produce some great cocktail menus without being showboats or overcharging for their product. Bartenders and staff have always been super friendly and attentive. Some nights have DJS or dance parties, and some nights it is just some throwback 90's music. In the summer, sitting outside is a treat. You are steps away from the bar, and yet so emerged in the beauty that is downtown Buffalo. If you are not a spirit drinker, they also feature a tap board of 6-7 beers, with a mix of local and domestic. But really, as a beer drinker, I still say - order...

While small batch distilleries are popping up all over many are serving creative but not very good liquor. Lockhouse is a standout exception of this rule. Got a chance to try the Gin, Barrel aged Gun, Amaro and Coffee Liqueur and each one might have been better than the next. They have a fun bar where they mix up some creative cocktails.
