Ok so I don't usually write bad reviews, but this was unacceptable! I got home from being out of town at 3:00 a.m. and was starving. Besides McDonald's, Jim's was the only option. Back in the day when I used to drink alcohol, I'd get a 4:00 a.m. sub and it was alright. Anyways I ordered a Jim's Blue, basically just a half chicken finger sub with blue cheese and small fries. Ok, the sub was ICE COLD - so strange - bc the chicken fingers were crispy but the entire sandwich felt like it just came out of the freezer. Their fries are usually good - these tasted old and had maybe the slightest bit of warmth to them - old gross disgusting fries. How are you going to serve me a hot sub literally cold as ice cubes? There was also a handful of onions on this sub, an obscene amount of onions on the sub which i had to remove - gross, learn proportions. It was beyond terrible. Listen, I get this place is for drunk college kids and for ppl who go out when they need a bite after they're wasted. But even if I was annihilated, seeing doubles and unable to walk in a straight line - this sub would still have been trash and disappointing - this sub seriously was sub-par for Buffalo standards. I was so hungry and just wanted something decent to eat after being on road for hours. I will never return to this...
Read moreDo yourself a favor, and go the extra mile up to Elmwood to Allentown's Jim's Steakout instead.
The curb-side phone process is totally broken, sloppy and unprofessional.
Arrived to see a sign stating only phone orders were being accepted for curb-side. No big deal, perfectly reasonable with COVID going on. The restraunt was totally empty, the runner was sitting around, and the cook looked to be wiping surfaces down.
First phone call rang about 15-20 times before going to a fax machine. Next two calls did the same thing. On the 4th attempt, I got through and was placed on a 5 minute hold. The hold audio was incredibly choppy, broken and clipping - no fault of this specific location, but still hard to make out what was being said.
After being taken off hold, there was ~30 seconds of silence before a disconnect at exactly 11:30. Calling back, the answering girl claimed that "they were extremely busy and orders are completed." In the 20 minutes I was parked outside, 80-85% of the time, the cook appeared to be wiping down surfaces, and the remainder of that time, there were two orders. If two orders is too busy for Jim's, then things have dramatically changed since pre-COVID.
0/10, would not recommend. Order from Allentown's...
Read moreI ordered a veggie hoagie, fries, stuffed banana pepper with blue cheese and a reese cookie. I usually only do reviews if it's awful or excellent. Ive had jims plenty of times...sometimes it is mediocre and some times it's great, but today it was quite awful. I ordered from skip the dishes and the hoagie was nothing but slop...meaning it it was really wet and soggy...it was also unseasoned, the fries i expected to be cold coming from skip the dishes but they were not only cold but very stale as if they were old and not freshly cooked, the cookie was awful and defintely not fully baked, it tasted like uncooked dough...and on top of everything the restaurant forgot to put my banana pepper with blue cheese in the bag. Honestly as bad as everything else was, I was a bit relieved because i did not want to endure anymore awful soggy food from them. I contacted the driver about my order...he was bit snippy and referred me elsewhere...and jims was no help either. I will say though skipthedishes customer service chat support was awesome...they were prompt in reponding and offering their apologies and a refund for the missing item. Very disappointed with the food i received but maybe it's a sign from the universe that i need to start eating...
