My family went on a Sunday after church. We got there after the lunch rush. We were waiting in the entry for almost 10 minutes without being greeted by a single staff member, and several passed by. Finally one acknowledged our presence and said she'd be with us shortly. Another few minutes went by and we were finally brought to a table. Took quite awhile before our server arrived. If she had come sooner, I would have asked to switch tables as there was a terrible, cold draft around where we were sitting. With a young child that didn't want to keep her jacket on, it wasn't pleasant. However since we had already wasted so much time, we just sucked it up and stayed put. We placed our orders - I got a skillet that was part of their bacon special, my husband also ordered a skillet and we also had a kid's chicken tenders meal. It took at least 25 minutes for our food. The server brought out the skillets and said she was still waiting for the kids meal but didn't want the skillets to get cold. Too late. Mine was stone cold. It didn't help that we had to wait almost 10 minutes more for silverware to be brought over before we could start eating our food. My husband's was lukewarm, so a bit better than mine. And his pancakes were decent. I will admit that I have not been to Perkins in quite some time however I know the skillets used to be gigantic - enough for at least 2 or 3 meals. The 2 that were brought out to us were half if not a third of the size they used to be. Pathetic. The kids meal finally arrived and at least it was hot. However it was too hot for my daughter to eat, and after waiting for her food for over 40 minutes you can be she was quite hungry. Kid's meals are to come with a cookie. I had to ask for it at the front counter, only to be told they had run out. My daughter instead got stuck with a very over baked muffin. All in all, this was a terrible experience and we won't go back. Our server was nice and friendly. That's the only positive comment...
Read moreWe decided to come to the Buffalo Perkins rather than driving through construction to Monticello. I will say, that wasn’t a very smart decision on our part…. My family and I were a party of six and it wasn’t busy. When we first walked in we were greeted by so many un-bussed tables and an unexpected ten minute wait. When we got seated the server didn’t even acknowledge us, twenty minutes pass and she finally decided to give us service. She asked us for our drink order and we also put in our food order given that we had so much time to think about what we wanted. Thirty minutes go by and still haven’t gotten our drinks.. Soon after us, A party of seven comes in and they ended up leaving due to their 30 minute wait to be acknowledged by the server. I would be more understanding if it was a super busy day but the employees were just chit chatting in the back!?! Forty-five minutes later we get our food but no drinks.. She asked if we needed anything else and I said our drinks, She replied with “Oh I am so sorry”, then proceeded to it to the next three tables. My question is, If you are going to be working as a host or a server why are you just sitting in the back when there are tables to be cleaned, people waiting to be seated, costumers waiting to be acknowledged, and why do you have employees that just don’t care??? Under staffing wasn’t even the issue, that was just very poor service. When we were paying for our bill at the front we watched people come in and wait for a while then just leave to go to the Monticello Perkins because the service there is better and it’s cleaner! I do not recommend coming here at all and if you want good food, faster/better service, go make the drive to the...
Read moreFirst visit ever to this location. We had to wait at least 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. Also our server just didn't seem with it today. Maybe she wasn't feeling well. She took forever to come to our table to take our drink and food orders. After that the food was delivered by another server and ours never came back to see how we were doing until we were done eating. SHe only had 4-5 tables so not like she was overwhelmed. I believe that if Perkins went to the trouble to rebrand their stores last year with a new owner, they need to work on customer service. The saving grace was a woman named Melissa who was at the counter when we paid and she asked how every thing was. So I took her aside and told her about this first experience. She said she was brand new to both the Perkins Brand and to this location so I told her about my experience. She offered me a gift card for my not so good experience but I told her no. The employees need to know that being greeted as soon as we come though the door is very important to ourselves as customers as well as the server taking care of all the guests. I know that next time we visit it will definitely be better than this no to busy Sunday afternoon. Thank you Melissa for listening to my concerns and I wish you well in your new journey...
