This is the second time I’ve been to this place and it was absolutely unprofessional. Let’s start off with the host who’s supposed to greet people at the door, but decides to talk to and hug friends who are there instead of doing her job. Or just getting in the way of everyone else. She was at the bar talking to the bartender then at the waitress stand giving them all these comments why they need to hurry tables along because there are other people there with reservations. That’s absolutely ridiculous that she was talking to staff like that in front of patrons. Then when someone would walk in and she wasn’t there, they would walk inside and she would chase them down screaming show me your vaccination card. A host needs to stay near where people are coming in and act professional as a greeter. Not going all over the restaurant talking to people and bossing people around. She was the most unprofessional host I’ve ever seen!! You don’t yell at customers, you don’t talk rudely around customers and you certainly don’t rush people out who’ve only been there for an hour. You want people to come back to this establishment! I called to make reservations and not once did the person taking the reservations mention to us that we couldn’t split the check. If they would have let us know when we made the reservation, everyone could have brought cash. Now let’s get to the snotty waitressing staff. I asked her a simple question and he response was well this is the theater district because it was a price question. I’ve been to much better restaurants with much better food who don’t treat their customers this bad! Lastly their food was just ok! They advertise food as one thing but you barely get what it was advertised as. A brisket burger with jam was a burger with the littlest amount of jam and flavor! The free starter bread should have been saved to give the wildlife because it was hard and bland! Don’t waste your time or money here. You’ll pay high prices for subpar food, and sit at sticky tables with horrible staff who think they are better then you. Avoid this place at all cost unless that’s the type of atmosphere you’re...

On Sunday March 26, 2023 my daughter and I had a reservation for 2 at 5:00pm before our show at Sheas Theater..We want to acknowledge our server Stephanie for her outstanding service we had from her..My daughter ordered the Salmon Crust and I the Buttermilk Chicken.. I had questions about the spices that were mentioned for this dish.. I told Stephanie I prefer no spices and she suggested other ways of presenting the dish the way I may like it.. She was accommodating to my needs. Needless to say both meals were perfect in every way when Stephanie brought our meals to our table..That is excellent service and for that I would come back again for another great experience. The hostess who greeted us said hello and took both of us to our table with No Wait! Sorry to say I could not remember her name but I will never forget how she made our evening complete.. After dinner our walk to Sheas was across the street..After being seated I asked my daughter for the binoculars I brought and she said oops I left them at The Bijou! She called immediately and talked with the hostess and she already had the item in hand.. My daughter said she would be right over to get them.. The hostess said I can meet you at the front door of Sheas and make sure you get them.. Now that’s what I call up and beyond her services! Both women deserve a 10 star for their kindness, expertise and overall knowledge to helping a more than satisfied customer..Thank you to the Hostess and Stephanie for an evening we will not forget! From...

Had the most amazing dinner. As a parent of 2 boys ages 4 and 6 dinner can be challenging especially at a restaurant. It was also a tske mom on a date night and catch a show at sheas across the street. We didnt make a reservation but were able to seat quickly. The dinner selections were amazing. The crab cakes were perfect. Nice snd hot and well cooked. The salad and dressing was also delicious with the crab cakes. I had the lobster ravioli and it was delicious. The kids crushed their meals (flat bread pizza and home made penne with meatballs) also the fresh table bread and finished it off with their brownie sunday. Kids literally licked their plates clean which rarely happens its usually a fight to eat all their food. Service was amazing and drinks were perfect. Even just a dounle whiskey and cola was done to perfection. The perfect amount of each slight taste of whiskey slight taste of cola. Rarely do i leave a restaurant having the perfect experience but had one this night. Thanks bijou! We are never disappointed when dinning with you but this night was just perfection on everything! The only thing i would say as a con is the beer selection. Would have liked to see more local stuff from resurgence woodcock and the likes but not enough to ever stop me from...

The Bijou is your best bet if you're ever in Buffalo. My girlfriend and I were both first-timers to the city. The Bijou surpassed all expectations with exceedingly excellent service, delicious food, friendly staff, and an all-around excellent atmosphere. This place is next door to the AMC movie theater, so it's perfectly convenient for taking your SO out to dinner and a movie. The chef is amazing, and IMHO, should be given a Michelin star. He took the time to come and introduce himself when dinner little slowed down this past Friday evening, and we even had a chance to catch up again after a late lunch on Sunday before we had to head back to NYC. He is a genuine, real New Yorker, and you could tell that he puts boundless skill, talent, passion, and love into all of his dishes. Beet salad is banging Mussels are RIDICULOUS (the Sambuca-based roux that they're served in is to die for) Would recommend 10/10 Totally might visit Buffalo again *just* to go to The Bijou again!!!

Dead quiet on a late Saturday afternoon. Attentive and friendly service was a plus. Herb oil and bread were a good start but the food itself was pretty disappointing for the price point. With tip $35 for the two items pictured. The first a sample of their meatballs (soft with good texture, but very bland) and stuffed pepper (again bland but slightly cheesier filling) for I believe $9. The other was their chicken caprese. Two small medallions of chicken and 1-1.5 cups of orzo. Pretty meager portion and one dimensional flavor for $19. My dinner compatriot got their spaghetti and meatballs which oddly came with two smaller meatballs (maybe 50% smaller, just as bland) and watery 'marinara'
