The Banshee: A Slice of Ireland in America
If you're searching for an authentic Irish pub experience in the States, look no further than The Banshee. This place isnāt just my favorite pub in Americaāitās the closest thing to stepping into a cozy pub in Dublin without booking a flight.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere wraps around you like a warm wool sweater. The dĆ©cor, the music, the friendly staffāit all feels genuinely Irish, not just themed.
Now letās talk food. The portions are generous (you wonāt leave hungry), and the menu is a love letter to classic Irish comfort dishes. Iāve worked my way through the bangers & mash, fish & chips, cottage pie, Guinness stew, and corned beef and cabbageāand every single one hits the mark. The flavors are rich, hearty, and satisfying in that way only true pub fare can be.
Surprisingly, their grilled salmon is a standoutābetter than what Iāve had at upscale seafood spots nearby. Even the broccoli is worth mentioning (yes, broccoli), which tells you everything you need to know about the kitchenās attention to detail.
And of course, they pour a perfect pint of Guinness. No shortcuts, no gimmicksājust the real deal.
Whether you're Irish or just Irish at heart, The Banshee is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo many great visits to The Banshee Irish Pub! Many nights for dinner, drinks and entertainment. A couple of late morning breakfasts on weekends. And then our most awesome time at The Banshee Irish Pub was having our wedding dinner there. Everyone and everything was PERFECT! We were a small party of 13 but they took care of us beyond all of my expectations. Wonderfully stocked bar. They even have my favorite, Carolans Irish Cream. Food has always been some of the best I've enjoyed. Favorites for me are the Shepherds Pie, Fish n Chips and Bangers with Mashed. Dessert choice is the Bread Pudding with extra vanilla cream sauce. And I can't forget all the great people that make our times there so good. Bartenders are at the top of their game. Servers are always making sure every table of guests is taken care of. The kitchen wizards are obviously killing it with the awesome food. The beautiful Hostess who has always managed to get us a great seat for dinner and the show. Special kudos to the Owners/managers for bringing The Banshee to the people of Buffalo who really wanted a new place of all great things Irish. The husband and I will be coming back again and again for as long...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were there on Tuesday, Feb. 25 with a 6:15 reservation. It was steady, but far from busy. We were seated immediately, but then it took several minutes for our server to come to the table. We ordered drinks (just a beer and a glass of wine), and it took over 15 minutes for those to arrive. The server warned us that it may be a bit slow, because only one bartender was on-duty, but we saw others around us getting served much faster - she just disappeared after she took our food order. After 15 minutes of waiting, we had to ask the hostess to check on our drinks and then when the bartender brought our drinks (not our server), the beer was flat. Regarding the food, we both ordered a reuben. Mine was fine, but my wife asked for it with no bread (she's gluten free) - just put all the other ingredients over fries. When her plate was delivered, it was luke-warm and had no cheese. We were excited to visit, because we loved the Irish pub decor, vibe, etc., but needless to say - the end result was very...
