No idea why this place is rated so high.
The wife and I went here for dinner. She got the "Black Tie Pasta" and I got the "Widow Maker". We also ordered Spinach Artichoke dip as an appetizer.
The appetizer arrived, and was lukewarm. The server didn't seen too shocked and passively offered to re-warm the dip. We declined, hoping that this would be an isolated incident. It wasn't.
The pasta my wife ordered was supposed to contain chicken. While this dish did technically contain chicken, it wasn't the type normally found in an Italian dish. Rather than having chopped/sliced chicken breast (or cutlets) the pasta had shaved deli meat. Think about that for a second. This wasn't roasted chicken that had been shredded, it was shaved sandwich meat. So that was $15 for overcooked pasta and deli meat. Awesome.
The "Widow Maker" is an interesting dish. It starts with a soggy bun, and gets somehow worse from there. The patty has no consistency and is undercooked. But the best part by far is the fake cheese. $15 for a cheeseburger without real cheese. I don't care what demographic you hail from, that's unacceptable. I think it's called "The Widow Maker" because it's so terrible that you shoot yourself in the parking lot.
Overall Claim Jumpers is overpriced below average food. Which falls completely in line with American dining.
End result, $47 for two people to come to the realization that they should have gone to In 'N Out Burger.
Picture is the Widow Maker and fries. Those are all the fries. Just in case someone thinks I ate 3/4 of them before I took...
Read moreI just spent 5 days at this hotel & over all had a good experience. Some places like Smash Burger was over priced & not worth the sizes you were getting. It's worth getting a Caesars Rewards Card if you gamble for the casino does have Daily Giveaways. I only play slots & after already visiting Vegas about 6 times this year & a laughlin trip, all I can say is..... on my 1st day I not got my 1st Hand Pay but also had 2 more after.... totalling 3 Hand Pays within a cpl hours of my being there. So the slot pay outs are fair & not tight to where you aren't getting some good wins out from every cpl hundred played. I found some slots were paying out more than others around same area & some were found to be really tight like the Huff N Puff in the High Limits Area. They have old & newer slots. A lot of the older style Blazing 777's in $1 & 25c Denominations. But they didn't have any $1 5 Line Blazing 777's which is another reason beside food prices for me giving them 4 stars. How can they not have a cpl of those slots when they seem to have all the other Blazing 777's? The hotel is clean for the most part. Staff was always nice & helpful. Their pool area is really nice. & spread out. They have little Jacuzzis spread thru out the 3 pools they have. All seemed to be working. The pool hours were from 8a 8p. The Lazy River was pretty cool. Plenty of chairs & Cabanas & was not over crowed with...
Read moreDinner started off promising with a very good platter of potato skins. After the appetizer, things slid off course. Chicken fried chicken platter came with two generous sized patties, gravy, and mashed potatoes. Cutting into the first patty had my table mates ducking for cover as the breading had cooked into a construction grade crust and sent shrapnel flying everywhere. Trying to eat the pieces I carved off left me unimpressed with the seasoning of the breading and the gravy. As I moved on from a few dentally frightening bites, I found my potatoes with a cooked French fry on top under the chicken. The fry was fully cooked at least, and the potatoes were good, having picked up the seasoning that should have been part of the gravy or chicken. Unfortunately, buried under the potatoes was an anomalous lump that was too firm to be just a large section of potato skin that failed to get shredded in the mash. I was done eating at that point. The other diners at my table had similar complaints: a medium rare steak that was chewy, gristly, and bloody, and a French dip that was made with Swiss cheese and steak-umm(?). The only lack of complaint was from our companion eating the fish and chips. This was a late afternoon order, and the place was jumping, but given my experience, I would recommend alternate venues to satiate a...
