If I had reviewed this restaurant the 1st time I came, I would've given 4-5's across the board. The food, service and atmosphere was great! This was only my 2nd time here but was so excited as my 1st experience was so good. We arrived at 8:20 and were told the hibachi tables weren't available as 8:00 was the latest, "but you're gonna have to order fast cuz the kitchen closes at 8:30." We basically knew what we wanted so we stayed. Our waitress was very nice but didn't seem to know the sushi menu very well as far as what was raw/cooked. We all ordered hibachi steaks, medium. They were definitely well done. The flavor was still good but not what we ordered. The Hot Night sushi roll was excellent! Best dish of the night. The Crazy Philadelphia tasted fishy. I thought my first one did & only had one bite but thought, maybe it was just that one piece then after trying a bite of a 2nd one, it was just as bad. Veggies and noodles were very good. Back to service. No one checked on us to see if we needed anything. My iced tea never got refilled. Two different people stopped by though (never saw our initial waitress again). The first dropped our bill off and left and the second, asked if he could get our bill for us. Now the atmosphere. The music was very loud, and I usually like mine fairly loud at home, so for me to think it was too loud, it definitely was. Then it got cranked up full tilt to wish someone a Happy Birthday. It was just bizarre how loud it was. After spending over $160 (not including tip) on our dinner, we were all in agreement that was our last time there. Note to management- I don't know if your employees are told to rush customers out the door or not, but your "greeter" tried pretty hard to not serve us, your servers (even the friendly one we only saw twice, the second time to tell us she was informed the kitchen was about to close at 8:30 so we needed to order right then) didn't want to serve us because they basically didn't. Maybe your posted hour of closing should be 8:30, since that's when you stop cooking. You have a sign at the front of your restaurant making sure customers know they better be there on time or they'll forfeit their turn in line. With this kind of service, I don't think you'll need that sign...
Read moreWent to dinner Saturday night around 7:30. There were three of us and we were seated at a table since all grills were filled and would be for an hour. While the restaurant was extremely busy, we were seated fairly promptly. We ordered a total of five rolls and I also ordered Udon soup with tempura and fish. I also ordered a glass of wine and my son ordered a mixed drink, which was rather flavorless. The various rolls were all delicious. Since several parties were celebrating special events, our conversation was interrupted by painfully loud music to announce these events to the whole restaurant. After the rolls were nearly finished, it became obvious that the soup had been forgotten. Before the bill was presented I requested that the soup be removed from the bill since I no longer wanted it. The server was very apolgeticand before the she presented the bill she said the soup woud not be charged but I could take it home if I wanted, which I did. Upon opening the container at home, I found nothing but noodles, no broth, very little krab, one mussel and one tiny shrimp. The tempura accompaniment was about what would be expected for one portion. My husband and I have eaten in this restaurant many time and have always been extremely pleased with the taste and quality of the food. I must say, however that this experience was disappointing and the solution of sending us home with free Udon noodles was lame. It will be awhile before we will be visiting again and NEVER again on a weekend. If I want Udon soup, there is a small, quiet restaurant across the river in Laughlin, Nevada or the Sakura restaurant in...
Read moreMy husband and I have been here before and were pleased with the food and service. However, tonight we went there and were very disappointed. We were greeted by a young lady who told us there was only one chef (not our problem). We got seated and our waitress took our order. I explained that I have shellfish allergies, so I couldn't have anything with shellfish in it. She came back and told me that the appetizer I ordered (vegetable tempura) couldn't be served to me because they only have one fryer (also not my problem) and everything, including shellfish, was cooked in the same fryer oil. She also said that the entree I ordered would have been cross contaminated as well, so I had to order something else. My husband asked that our appetizers were brought together, then our entrees. Instead, I was served my appetizers, then entree and waited 10 minutes for my husband's food to arrive, which was entree first then appetizer. My food was luke warm because I didn't eat without him being served as well. I hate to complain, but it is unacceptable that with food allergies being so serious (sometimes deadly) that the restaurant would only have one fryer, and that the servers wouldn't know that appetizers come before entree. The upside to this experience is that the manager Rosy came to our table and did everything to rectify the problem. We weren't going to go back, but after Rosy took care of us we will go back. She is a great manager and really cares about the customers and her employees. Rosy is very professional and caring. The owners really need to...
