Unfortunately I have to add to the powerfully negative reviews I see here. I visited here about two weeks ago for a wellness check and vaccinations for a young, otherwise apparently healthy cat that I had adopted from a rescue situation. Primarily, naturally, I especially wanted to make certain a litter of kittens weren't going to appear.
I mentioned this several times as we were asked to wait several times for different steps in their process to play out. I specifically remember asking the veterinarian himself twice when his exam finally took place. I asked twice because he said the approximately 3 year old female cat was healthy but not spayed. This didn't make sense even to a total know-nothing like me. The cat had been under care for at least 10 months and had not had a litter and apparently never had. She also had never displayed signs of being in heat. I asked the doctor if he was sure and he looked again more closely and said no. I indicated I would be interested in obtaining the spaying.
Then began another long, forced, delay while I waited to pay and go. Apparently this was while two detailed estimates were prepared for the high and low ends of Spay costs, which I had not requested, and would have been happy to have had emailed to me.
The cost of their wellness visit and blood work came to $350 without vaccinations because "they were out". Their estimate for the spaying was from $650 to $750. Neither is cheap and I quickly learned about the Humane Society in Kingman and their spay/nueter services. I learned that during their special program times the normally $100 cat Spay is reduced $65 to $35! Full services are also available for a fraction of the costs charged here.
So I rented a car, at my expense, and devoted one of my days off to my new girl's spaying at the Kingman Humane Society. I need to add here how friendly AND professional all the staff here are. But Imagine my dismay when the first thing the vet tech says is "are you sure she isn't already spayed". She pointed out everything I had noted along with the lack of mammary gland development. She looked the same way your vet looked but still said "We have to shave her to be sure". 30 seconds later and there it was, loud and clear, plain as day, a long-healed spaying scar.
Today I tried to address this with this veterinarian clinic but they don't answer the phone and apparently screen their messages. I believe I am entitled to, at least, a partial refund for the failure to correctly identify her reproductive condition.
Honestly, I don't expect any satisfaction. Every impression I have of this organization from before, during and since my one visit matches completely what so many other one star reviews say. They are very expensive and obsessed with obtaining your money. When they can't even take 30 seconds to accurately tell you if a cat has been spayed but they can make you wait 30 minutes while they prepare high and low estimates for spaying her, you really have to question something. When they won't even respond to questions about this happening you are forced to question even more.
If you choose to use this veterinarian clinic after reading any number of the one star reviews basically saying the same thing, that...
Read moreMy wife, and I took our cat Coty, who was obvious to me on his last leg. He wasnât eating his skin was a pale yellow. I went to this doctor once before with my little dog, when she was sick, and he was very empathetic. He did a few tests sent us home with dogs steroids, and the dog was fine. So back to Coty our cat. When we got there it was med range busy and after an hour we were called in through there policy and procedures line apparently? The girl asked some questions and hit us with a 800 to 900 dollar figure. Double what the dogs fee was six months earlier and they hadnât even seen Cody yet. However Iâve had Coty 15yrs. So the Doctor came in and was a little more dogmatic about the prognosis. I knew? As Cody was my third cat. And they always seem to go from liver or kidney failure. However, they talked me into all these tests and he was leaning more towards me buying their food, giving him oral injections, etc.for a week! and at that time I felt might as well give Coty that that shot⌠So what really bothers me is at the time I told him I donât want Coty feeling like shit and suffering for a week. He understood? And said that would be the best chance. So when I went to pay the bill, it was 1050.00 okay , Higher than quoted but thatâs okay. So after Just a couple of days of Cody throwing up every time I push this crap in his mouth, food and the injection we got a call From the doctors office from the girl upfront stating they had missed a blood test smear and could we come back in the next day, so they can do it for no charge of course she said, as apparently Iâve already paid for it. And she also stated would be in and out. Well, we got there. It was packed. There was no in and out. We waited there for two hours. When we finally got into the girl who stared asking me how was Cody doing? Etc lotta da! We both knew what was going on. And I said yeah, letâs just for-go this blood smear and do the right thing. She goes. OK Iâll get the doctor.. Beyond a shadow of doubt, this was a process in my opinion of bate and switch, and then fleece the customer. Dr. nice guy comes in with the injection, I wait with Cody and my wife as Cotyâs head goes down and I look up and then thereâs a handout for another $238.00 dollars! No refund on the blood test, wr apparently paid for and never got? Nor was it mentioned. My wife wears a lot and f things Iâve boughten her over the years, as she has memory issues⌠you know? And she doesnât want to keep looking for things. And I was in the financial industry for over 40 yrs, and I always treated people fairly. I made a profit, but I was fair. Itâs either Rolexâs and nice vehicles are targets? Or everyone in Bullhead suddenly got rich? For me? I believe the ladder. So beware! Whatever youâre calculating in your head from 60 years of experience with pets. Just double the price when you go here! A few more hundred more wonât bother you so muchâŚ. PS After Reading the numerous one star reviews? Iâm sure Iâll be getting a cease and desist letter from this office apparently. Bring...
Read moreSold me 9 months worth of expired heart worm medication. Slapped their own prescription label on the front with a completely different expiration date from the manufacturers. When I went back to swap it out they kept the medication and told me they donât know what theyâre doing and Iâll have to call the next day when the technician who handles medication is there. When I called they told me they canât just swap out the medication and Iâll have to come in on 6/11 at 2:30 to do another heart worm test, free of charge. When I showed up the door was locked with a sign that said theyâre temporarily closed. Now theyâre saying I have to come in on 6/25. This is the second time theyâve wasted my time, not to mention how overpriced everything is and their lobby wait times. $700+ for a dental cleaning and they kept him overnight the night before, alone, for no reason. Once I get this medication fiasco sorted out I will be finding a new vet.
