
Love BURBANK FITNESS CLUB! super clean, staffs are really nice and the most amazing and caring coach Iāve ever met is there! Amanda is nice, caring and knowledgeable,she is the best and her classes are super fun and effective. NO ONE IS GONNA DIE THERE𤣠but youāll definitely feel that burn dying motions therešŖš¼šŖš¼š«¶š¼š«¶š¼LOVE IT. Thank you AMANDAā¤ļø
After a year I am going to update my review from 5star to 1starā¦. And thus is my reason (I worked out as solo for many years, never joined group workouts but one day I had an invitation from Amanda to join here class and her classes gave me strength to go to the gym after a long tiring day at work. I never spin in my life but she has this spirit in herself that gives you this confidence that you can do it no matter what you are going through in your life. It is very heartbreaking and disappointing that the management of BFC let Amanda go. THE QUESTION IS WHY??? It seems they only COPY AND PASTE the same answer for every each one of us which is kind of unprofessional⦠seems they even havenāt realized what theyāve done!!! This gym is really clean and has really nice and welcoming staffs, also their coaches are very respectfulā¦.. the only thing is why would they fire such a nice caring coach without any advance notice and just decided to cancel the classes overnight!? How could they allow themselves to play with a personās life and feelings?? Someone whoās know just as loving, caring and inspiring person. I even donāt like going to the gym! I believe we all as her students need an explanation. I would give the highest stars to the gym equipments, the staff but I decided to give 1 star because of the management decisions which has had the worst impact on us)
OK I GUESS THIS IS GOING TO BE A STORY THAT NEEDS TO BE PUBLISHED šššššš¤š¤ So I was working out on Saturday and one of the staff came to me saying that she had a bad news for me⦠honestly I was scared at the first ā¦. I was literally told to leave the gym and I told her Iām gonna stay and finish my workout but the the staff came back and said AMANDA B āthe managerā sent you an email that they cancelled your membership š”š”š” that was the last thing I would expect to hear from herā¦.. I was treated like a criminal only because I wrote a negative review and only because I shared my opinionā¦. So I emailed the management that I paid for Juneās membership and I mentioned that I wasnāt irespectful to her but she was by sending someone after me and ask me to leave in front of the people š So the staff told me that SHE HAD TO SCORT ME OUT ACCORDING TO AMANDA B THE MANAGER OF THE BFC. I attached the emails she sent me just to share my feelings and to let people know that they should really know about the community they are going to. This was really humiliating, after 6 years of being a member of BFC, they canceled my membership only because they cannot tolerate the truth. Amanda B, you should know I hate gossip and drama, I am an honest person and I donāt think in that gym someone has ever known me as a dramatic person which you mentioned in your email. Almost all Amanda Whiteās (the coach) students either canceled or the management canceled their membership and this was the DRAMA that you created not the coach and her students. You need to change your ways and manners. Otherwise, by breaking hearts of so many people you cannot build your business. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff is nice enough. The equipment so-so. Being crowded at times is expected for a small gym with such low prices for the area. But there are definitely other issues.
They try to keep it all clean, with an emphasis on try. The carpet in the men's locker rooms is the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a gym, making about as much sense as carpet in a kitchen or bathroom. That is because carpet can harbor fungus, bacteria, and more.. things that cannot be cleaned off and disinfected without shampooing (vacuuming does not cut it). I never had problem with athletes foot till going here, and I tried not to NOT step on the gross carpet with bare feet, apparently with no success. I also saw a smear of what appeared to be feces on the shower wall that took weeks to be cleaned, apparently they only clean the floors regularly. GROSS!
However, my main problems came like others here in the reviews, with the billing. They had my CC, did my initial payment, charged it normal for a few months.. Then after a few more months, I get stopped when going in and told I'm several months behind. It was all suppose to be charged to my card, I told them. I was given an office number to call, which I had to spend time calling over and over during prime business hours, trying to get someone on the phone, which once I did they were short with me. They tried to tell me that my CC number must have changed and I did not update it, which I explained it did not. Then they blamed it on their system. Finally, when I looked at the CC account to follow-up, adding up the months paid and owed to the charges, I find out that they overcharged me. I bring it to their attention, and the BS ensues. They credit some of it back, then charge too much again. I finally just quit, paid what I actually owed, and told them if they did not drop these erroneous charges, I'd pursue bureau complaints due to their incompetence. They finally dropped the charges. It is weird to have people acting so blatantly stupid and not doing the simple math, while working in billing too!
I guess you get what you pay for....

Evidently, Iām not the first this has happened to but hopefully I will be the last. BAC (Burbank Athletic Club) has illegally acquired my NEW debit card number after I verbally cancelled my month-to-month membership.
After my debit card expired they attempted to get a new card out of me but I simply told them I was month-to-month and wanted to cancel my membership due to the fact that I had moved. I went 6 or 7 months and then I was hit with 6 charges in a matter of a couple days. What if I had insufficient funds? I could have been charged my monthly fee plus $35 for each overdraft charge. This could have cost me well over $300. They never attempted to contact me by mail, email, text or phone indicating they had (illegally) gotten my new card and were intending on charging it for the last 6 months of cancelled gym membership.
In speaking with Mariah R at BAC, I was told their method of acquiring my new card was via an āUpdated Card Readerā. She explained that a vendor (BAC) may request the credit card company (Visa or MasterCard) to supply the vendor with a customerās (Cain) new credit card number āIFā the vendor can supply proof that the vendor has had commercial relations with said customer. Via my connection with Visa I found this to be completely NOT true. They did advise I check with a specialist at my bank (Chase) for their input. Chase too confirmed BACās claim of acquisition as FALSE.
Finally, I asked BAC if they had any document whatsoever (contract or otherwise) that gives authority to charge the new debit card. They said no.
They have nothing by me, my bank or Visa.
Chase has reversed the charges and blocked Burbank Athletic Club from charging me again. AND, Chase even waved the usual fee to do this. Chase states they will be doing their own investigation into this matter.
Iāll be filing a civil suit as Iām not the only one they have victimized. I pity those that have, in fact, had their accounts overdrawn and accumulated...
