Update 10-26-24
This is the Pastrami and Egg sandwich with cheese and extra mustard. It is fabulous! Look at it.
The cheese is hot and stretchy.
Santoro’s makes some combinations that are not on the menu and I wish to show some Golden Delicacies from Santoro’s.
9/15/24 Update The crew recommended the Italian Cold cuts and I can say there were 100% correct. Delicious.
Update 9/6/24
It was 115 degrees in Burbank. It was too much to do anything in the kitchen.
I wish to share how welcoming Jamal and Kayla were when I entered the door. It was hot and they are full of smiles and upbeat.
I wanted to try a different sandwich. I am happy that I did try another. Here we have another wonderful Pastrami creation that Jamal made.
Thanks Santoro’s
Update 7/27/24

Update: 7-28-23 Wish to share a big Thank you to Joe, Carina and Max. I go to Santoro’s about once a week. I am greeted with a big Hello, a positive attitude and a line. Last Saturday, they ran out of bread. It is that busy on weekends. To Sal the owner: Big compliment for having an excellent crew. The line moves quickly and they always get my orders right. Thank you, Santoro’s!
Santoro’s has been a golden staple in Burbank since 1956. It is because the sandwiches are delicious. Look at my Turkey sandwich. It is a work of art. I have tried just about every sandwich and can say that they are all excellent. I am a big fan of the oil and herb mixture that they add to the subs.
I went in and has my sandwich within 5 minutes. The girls at the counter were friendly and welcomed me. There is only street parking but plenty of it.
They do large subs for...
Read moreOne sentence review – Aggressively mediocre. 1.5 stars. My sandwich – I ordered a large pastrami sandwich. I was pretty pleased with the heaping amount of pastrami on my sandwich, but that’s pretty much where the positives ended. Some things I was not too pleased with: The (default, white) bread was incredibly flimsy: I watched my sandwich get made in front of me, and in the time it took me to pay for my meal, grab some napkins, get a seat, and open my sandwich, the meat already was soaking through the bread. Way too many bland vegetables – first, all of their veggies are diced, which was unexpected. I wasn’t expecting diced pickles or onions. The veggies also were incredibly bland. And there were a TON of them. Sandwich construction – very poor overall. None of the veggies stayed on my sandwich; when I unwrapped it there was a huge pile of chopped veggies in my wrappings and none that remained on the sandwich. The mustard was very unevenly spread and there were portions of the sandwich with overwhelmingly huge bites of mustard. Pretty sure I was being served by a new addition to the staff so I don’t hold this against Santoro’s too much, but still pretty disappointing. The pastrami was just ok – lots of it, but not very flavorful. Compared to other sandwich shops – I avoid Subway as much as I can, and that’s at the bottom of the sandwich shop pecking order for me, but this is...

I walked in and asked what was the most popular thing. The girl answered, " Italian. I ordered the Italian and a small soft drink. The place was completely empty, I asked if it's been a busy day and the girls working there kind of just chuckled at me. Totally cold, no personality and very unfriendly. The sandwich was not very good at all. The serving of meat on the sandwich was pathetic at best, kind of like Subway but less meat. The sandwich was very bland, all bread. The only thing I liked about the sandwich was the chopped onions and pickles. I would have been better off just ordering a side of chopped onions and pickles. I don't see how this place has amazing reviews based on the food because the food was just not good. I definitely prefer Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's and even Subway and I hate Subway, over this place. I spent $15 for a large Italian sandwich and a small soft drink. The large Italian is half the size of the large Italian at Jersey Mike's at the same cost and the Italian is 10 times better at Jersey Mike's. They do not have a parking lot so you must park on the street. I found it relatively easy to find parking on the street.
Beware, the staff here is not so friendly. Rude smug kids.
P. S. As you can see in the picture the serving of meat they give you is pretty pathetic. It's basically a...
