Another espresso gem! đ âď¸ In my espresso snobbish opinion, these places are tough to find as we are in a epidemic of burnt coffee/espresso.
Would you not agree that coffee isnât getting cheaper (nothing is! đ ). And at the expensive price point of espresso (avg $4 a double shot), I do expect a solid quality tasting product and I find roasteries even burn their espresso and or give a cup of hot muddy water. đ¤˘
Not this đ! They provide rich tasting âdark matter. Itâs obsidian colored like my soul đ. In addition they offer fun and unique drink options like cold brew limeade and an espresso tonic and orange bitters! What?? That sounds weird! Yes please!
The baristas there ( I use the term as they expertly craft their coffee drink and dial in their espresso machine) were kind and laid back.
Bonus: I snagged a dark chocolate sea salt and what it a rainbow sprinkled cookie? (Almost fruit pebbles tasting in the most delicious way possible). Both were really good.
Bonus bonus: this place is also a craft tap room for after noon early evening beer options and they have craft cans and bottles to go as well. I didnât realize this was also a mini bottle shop!
I hope destiny brings me back to this area, this small town near the airport, and to this gem of an espresso cafe.
Hot Tips: đ żď¸ was and looked pretty easy to find in the area.
7 mins from is a beautiful park and beach called Seahurst! Get your delicious coffee and go their from a walk. Parking was also smooth there (it was around noon...
Read moreUpdated Review (Feb. 2019) Seems to be itâs old self again. Noticed some staff turn and appears attention to quality, attentive, service has returned. Only comment at this point would be... When can you expand? Seating so often maxed these days. I know itâs probably not possible with local building code, but a second story would be the bomb! Maybe a satellite spot across the street in the new commercial space under apartments? Perhaps one that also offers a few beers and wine on tap. :)
Updated Review (Sept. 2018) Burien Press is beginning to slip a bit... Newer staff is not nearly as friendly as previous crew. Also, what you order and what the baristas actually make gets lost in communication from the cashier to barista (a total distance of 2 feet). I watch it happen... You order a specific drink, cashier says "OK sure, great." Then they half-heartedly communicate the request, and the barista half-heartedly confirms (then proceeds with little attention to detail). The Starbucks'ing of Burien press? Previous staff seemed to pride themselves on getting it right and that's what my standard is based upon. They set a much more positive precedence. Training needs to improve, IF BP still prides themselves on quality coffee drinks and best in class customer service.
Old Review: Best of the best in South Seattle suburbs. Key ingredient: They take pride in what they serve. If you enjoy high quality craft espresso drinks and a hip chill atmosphere, this is your place. Viva...
Read moreI came here for the 1st time today. I had high hopes when i walked in but was sadly very disappointed. I ordered an extra dry oatmilk cappuccino and was given a oatmilk latte(no foam at all). When I was rung up she asked if I got the latte. I Said yes, that's what I received but not what I ordered. She apologized and asked if I wanted it remade. I said yes please I'd really appreciate it. She confirmed with the barista that I wanted was an extra dry cappuccino. I watched him steam the milk and wait way to long to try to foam it. He stopped steaming it, checked it to see if there was any foam, dumped some of the milk out and tried to foam it again. You can't make a dry cappuccino with already hot milk. All he did was make an extremely hot latte. He showed it to the other barista and said "you think thats good? I donât know how to make it any more dry." The other barista responded "yeah." So I received a very hot heavy latte, which i threw away and went to the other coffee shop down the road. A cappuccino should be very lightweight with a nice thick foam. Please learn how to steam milk properly. I don't care that you can make latte art if you can't actually make the...
