Good Thing Coffee is an absolute gem in Burlingame! This specialty coffee shop is a haven for coffee purists and dessert lovers alike.
First off, their Pistachio Einspänner is a game-changer! Itâs made with natural pistachioânot syrupâso you get that rich, authentic nutty flavor without any artificial sweetness. Itâs creamy, perfectly balanced, and a must-try for anyone who appreciates coffee with depth.
Their desserts are equally impressive. Both the Matcha Yuzu Cheesecake and Hokkaido Cheesecake are baked fresh in-house daily. The light, fluffy texture and delicate flavors make these the perfect pairing with their coffee.
And letâs not forget the croissants! They sell the incredible croissants from Croissante in Santa Clara, which are hands down some of the best Iâve had in the Bay Area. Buttery, flaky perfectionâdonât leave without trying one!
What really sets Good Thing Coffee apart is their attention to quality. They specialize in single-origin espresso and light roast coffee, using beans sourced from Paris and Amsterdam. Thereâs no need for added syrups because the coffee itself is so high-quality. If youâre someone who enjoys coffee thatâs not too sweet or even unsweetened, this is the spot for you.
The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to sit back and truly...
Read moreDisappointing on several fronts. Was intrigued by the SF Chronicle write up so I came by shortly after noon on a Friday. No Japanese cheesecakes (nor any other cakes either) were to be found. Just a cookie with an impressive name âDubai Chocolate Cookieâ for $7. It turned out to be dry and disappointing. The famous pistachio Einspanner which SF Chronicle described as âiced latte topped with crumbled pistachios and a luscious, house-made pistachio cream so thick itâs served with a small wooden spoon.â turned out to be an ice coffee with tons of ice cubes and a heavy whipping cream (not luscious nor pistachio-flavored) with a sprinkling of pistachios on top. Boo. Seating is scarce and your likely only option is the depressing backyard with unclean, rickety metal garden furniture with nary a decent surface to eat something from (if you were even to get one of their elusive cakes). At least the plates are authentically Japanese with their faux French writing replete with incorrect grammar. Not worth the $15.50 I spent on an unsatisfying cookie and an...
Read moreI just discovered this jewel! There are few things I like more than a good cup of coffee, which is not as easy to find as one would think. Well, I just received the delightful surprise of an absolutely delicious cup of coffee. I wouldnât say ânext levelâ. Iâd say ânext, next levelâ! It was everything one would expect from high quality beans; balanced flavor, rich and full bodied, aromatic. Chefâs kiss! The barista, Darren, and his co-worker (didnât catch her name) were very friendly and warm, and the atmosphere is one of (I call) modern cozy. It made dealing with some difficult emails better. On my way out, I met Vincent, the owner, and I promptly told him I would be reviewing his wonderful coffee. Heâs very nice, and expressed his love for the neighborhood, and hopes for residents to get to know them. The business is pretty new, and Iâm always one to get excited (obviously) when I hit gold, so here we are! Next time, Iâll try a...
