Let me start out by saying that the food is quite good, and the servers are personable and we've never had a bad experience with them to date. However, I am going to comment on something that we observed on our last visit. During our order, our server had to inform us that they were out of strawberries for a particular dish. No problem, these things happen. However, their boss (I don't know if he was the establishment's manager or some sort of shift lead) then proceeded to give our server a hard time for not being aware that the place was out of strawberries, which made us somewhat uncomfortable. We proceeded to eat, everything was fine, and on our way out I overheard the same manager and another worker snickering over something. Apparently, there were strawberries, and they were playing some kind of joke on our server by hiding them. I was stunned. Not only was this monstrously unprofessional behavior, it had a direct impact on my experience as a guest, and I'm sure others', as well, since I think I heard them keep saying that there were no strawberries. No joking like that should be tolerated, especially from any type of management staff. As good as the food and servers are, I need to seriously evaluate if I want to put my money in the hands of people who treat their employees, and...
Read moreThis place has been here longer than I can remember. I used to go here 15+ years ago when I lived in the area. I took my parents here for breakfast just to switch it up. We all tend to go to our usual breakfast spots. We were greeted and seated right away by a cheerful waitress. She definitely brings life to the place. The place itself is simply decorated.
We ordered:
Pancake sandwich special - my dad liked how the pancakes tasted home made. Sausage was perfectly cooked.
Denver omelette w/ crepes - my mom felt the veggies and ham were not browned or cooked well enough. She didn't care for the potatoes. They weren't seasoned and browned enough. She really liked the crepes and almost literally licked the plate clean.
Biscuits and gravy - The sausage and gravy were delicious. The biscuit was a little hard, like it wasn't fresh.
The people who worked here were really good at keeping the place clean and ready for the next batch of customers. My dad liked the service and the fact that you can kind of see them cooking the food. Overall, it was a good experience all the way around. It's a simple no frills diner. My parents especially loved that the portions...
Read moreNeal’s Coffee Shop is a pleasant surprise. The service is excellent, staff are friendly and attentive from the moment you arrive. The classic diner-style décor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes. While it might benefit from being slightly more focused, the quality of the food remains consistently high. Everything I tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and nicely presented.
A standout feature is their mimosas made with natural orange juice. Being able to enjoy a fresh mimosa, even early on a Monday morning, is a huge plus, especially in the Bay Area, where this kind of offering is rare. It’s a small detail that really adds to the experience.
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. The food is excellent, and the overall experience is...
