Worst experience I’ve ever had. My sisters and I (African-Americans), three reside in Winston-Salem and I from Durham, decided to meet in Burlington to fellowship. I decided to take my sisters to a place to bring about holiday cheer, later realizing I should have gone elsewhere. According to a search on Google, this would be the ideal place. The greetings of the front desk hostesses are horrible, my filet mignon was cold, as well as my sister’s. The server ignored us and never came to check to see if we needed anything, even though we were the second table to be sat at after this restaurant opened at 4:30. I ordered a take out of filet mignon, my husband and I eat at Ruth’s Chris every Friday night, which was to be medium rare and my husband stated it was tough and of course not medium rare at all. It was hard for me to tip this waiter who was seen assisting everyone else by refilling their water glasses, as well as alcoholic beverages, and taking their orders. When he first came to our table, after we sat for awhile, my sister, who was dressed as Mrs Klaus asked if he was naughty or nice, just trying to small talk, and he, in a short voice stated “I’m going to be naughty tonight.” Well I guess that was what he referring to when it came to our table. He never served us properly and truly ignored us the entire time. The manager finally came over and I explained how we were all trying out the place for the first time and that we were from out of town. I told him I didn’t know what the problem was with the server for our table as others were being waited on and we totally were ignored. The manager stated he would speak with the server. Whether he did or didn’t speak to him I’ve realized that this is not the place we should have come to bring about a bit of cheer for one of my sisters who lost her husband this year and my younger sister who is having cancer surgery on next weekend. It was very hard leaving this server a $40 tip, for the $193.00 tab, but that is just the way that I am (I paid the bill for the table). I can guarantee you this that with the behaviors and lack of interpersonal skills of the server and hostesses that we will never be back. Places like this make me love Ruth‘s Chris even the more, my husband and I Friday date night! What a huge...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try this place for an anniversary dinner. We ate in the bar area, where they had booths and some tables; was 2 or 3 other parties there when we got there at 6p. By 630/645 they were full (Note, COVID kept them at 50% capacity). They do take reservations.
Food: OUTSTANDING Service: Excellent (Thank you Nikki!) Price: $$$ Value: Great Menu: Excellent. Nice variety of steak, chicken, seafood. Good selection of sides.
This was by far, the best Filet Mignon that I have ever had! In the past I've ordered steak at restaurants but was always disappointed with the quality and taste. Decided to try the Filet here since they had a couple sauces that sounded really good. OH MAN!, was not disappointed! the steak was cooked to perfection. Talk about melt in your mouth. I would describe it as simply silk in your mouth. Even if you didn't have any teeth you could eat this steak it was so tender. I also had Caesar salad and twice baked stuffed potato. Both excellent.
If I had to give a little downside, it woud be a little on the pricey side. But the quality of the food is well worth it. Our bill was $110 with tip (my steak with salad and side was $38).
It is a la carte, but we did a couple specials that included meal, salad and side. Sauces were extra $5, again well worth with it. BUT the steak was OUTSTANDING on its own. I just happen to like the peppercorn/brandy demi-glaze (comes on the...
Read moreVisited here with my husband on a Friday night. This place gives elegant vibes and plates are $20-30 a pop, with desserts $8-10. The drinks are insanely affordable at $6-$15 for cocktails. The food is honestly just ok. The service with Muna was phenomenal despite the serious food let down. We ordered the spinach dip to start and it was delicious. All that was missing was some pico de Gallo for a nice kick. The margaritas we ordered were not very good at all like the sweet and sour was watered down. Most of the meals come with one side and bread. For dinner I ordered shrimp scampi with mashed and Mac and cheese, while hubby ordered the medallions with rice. Their rice is some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Moist and flavorful. The medallions were cooked to 3 different temperatures and the black pepper gravy was watery. We sent them back and got the strip with Gorgonzola cheese. The steak tasted like charcoal with no flavor, and the cheese was just way too much. My scampi was ok- it was mainly butter and garlic, missing some seasonings. We tried a variety of desserts. The bourbon pecan pie was delicious, but definitely not enough to share for 2 people as they advertise! The pound cake sundae was ok. The cake was really dry. The apple crisp was pretty much oatmeal with apple filling. Not sure if we’d revisit and other than the bourbon pecan pie, I can’t say I’d recommend...
