WOW!!! Super impressed! Amazing donuts. Heard they were at a pop up at Tuscan Village in Salem, NH like 2 weeks ago and we live in Methuen but we missed them. Looked them up surprisingly they just opened one in Burlington. It is still far away from where we live. But worth the drive! Went on a Saturday around 1pm. Everything was pretty much sold out. I was able to get the last 2 glaze, 2 maple bacon & 2 watermelon. My sons LOVED the watermelon donuts. The maple bacon dear lord soooo good!!! The glaze is perfection not too sweet! I told my husband we have to go back next week to see what the July flavors are. He said the donuts are addicting. Next time we will go early! Try them for yourself you will not be disappointed. P.S. - we could use a Rocco’s up North! Somewhere around Andover, Methuen or Salem, NH. Tuscan Village would be a perfect location HINT HINT!!! Will be back...
Read moreAs a donut enthusiast I was excited to see a new shop open up. To give context, I'm very familiar with the donuts of Kanes, Union Square, Mass Hole, and Blackbird. I've even frequented mom and pops like Demet's in Medford and Twin Donuts in Allston.
I know my donuts.
Out of all the donuts I've sampled in the region, Rocco's is just okay. Leagues above the glazed cardboard Dunkin's tries to pass as donuts but well below the regional kings like Union Sq. Donuts. I sampled one of their cake donuts and while the dough was acceptible and the glaze was fine, it lacked the nuance of flavor I've come to expect from donuts at this price point. These donuts have the vaneer of being gourmet but lack any complex flavor profiles offered by their competitors.
In a pinch, Rocco's is great over Dunkin' but if you're driving by Union Sq. Donuts or Blackbird? Just go...
Read moreHuge shoutout to Alfie and the driver who delivered the donuts on 12/22. Despite our pre-order not being ready, Alfie went above and beyond to ensure a timely delivery. The driver, despite his main role being just delivery, also stepped in to assist. When I spoke to Alfie the previous night, his positive energy and kindness stood out. Both Alfie and the driver, whose name I unfortunately didn't get, truly represent the excellence of Rocco's Donuts. It's clear that Alfie was stretched thin, especially on a busy day before a holiday. Management should recognize his dedication and should never, ever have put him in that situation. Alfie, you're truly amazing. The donuts were a hit, and I appreciate your hard work. Wishing you a joyful holiday season. 5 stars for Alfie...
