The Other Place — Restaurant in Burlington

I've been to this bar before with PERFECT AND PROFESSIONAL service each time. Tonight the bartender DEMANDED a tip from every person in my group after making our first drinks and was super rude the entire service, then he fought us on our way out for thinking him unprofessional. He cursed us out super hard and tell us that we're awful and that we don't know how to be at a bar. He slammed glasses down before making the actual drinks, he'd aggressively make drinks in a way that made literally those around us uncomfortable, he was super rude to us while in the building and while taking his smoke break when we were never close to him physically and he put himself into our conversation just to be more rude and disrespectful for his own ego to feel better. This night and this particular bartender ruined our want to ever go back to this bar and there were at least 6 people in my group never wanting to ever attend this place again. I wish a 0 starts could go towards this...

Love the op as a vibe and for cheap drinks. However, The bartender, Ben as I have heard his name is, should be fired. He frequently harasses women and feels the need to raise his voice at people much younger than him. While most of the patrons and employees of the OP are great, Ben is notorious for power tripping. This can be corroborated by virtually any person who has entered the establishment and doesn’t fit the incel crowd. He has verbally accosted me when completely sober because i was walking funny (i was injured) and forced me to leave the bar. In a later instance, he timed my female friend going to the bathroom and screamed at her when she took more than 5 minutes. As a man in his mid 30s i have also heard of him pursuing freshman aged women at UVM, which is weird. I cannot with a good conscience ever review the OP positvely until this...

Been in the industry for 8+ years. By far the worst bar experience I’ve ever had. I came in with 5-6 friends and tried to order drinks for us. We tried to split them between two cards, which is something that shouldn’t be hard for any bartender. He proceeded to throw us all out of the bar (majority of us hadn’t even spoke to him) and call my perfectly polite friend some vicious words. We were trying to spend money at this bar. As Burlington service industry workers, this experience left a horrible taste in our mouths. Won’t be returning. Went to Finnigans after and told the bartender what happened. She was super super understanding and felt the same exact way we did.

Don’t like leaving bad reviews. But this was an anomaly.
