Stopped by to get some BBQ to go. The good- Was very happy to see all staff masked and behind plexiglass, and also outdoor seating if you want to stay and eat. The brisket was very good-mostly tender and moist. Personally I prefer a bit more spice and smoke flavor, especially for burnt ends. The pork ribs were also good. Now the bad-the sides are very boring. We ordered four pounds of meat and got 2 small containers of beans, which I thought was pretty skimpy for the amount of meat we bought (beans come with the meat). The beans tasted out of a can, with no flavor whatsoever. We also got a couple of containers of potato salad, which was pretty much potatoes with a mustard based dressing, pretty boring. No bread, onions or pickles with our $100+ order. They only do brisket, pork ribs and sausage, and it is all by the pound only. So I give the bbq we sampled 4 stars, 2 stars for the sides, 3 star average. Service...
Read morefinally got around to trying this place. I guess let's start with the sides. The potato salad was spot on and the beans were almost perfect, needing a bit more kick for me. I tried the jalapeño sausage, which was flavored perfectly but a little dry. The turkey, which is hard to get right for any place, was dry but tasted fine. But the brisket should be front and center at any respectable BBQ joint in Texas. It was very fatty, in fact that's all I could taste, which is fine but lacked any kind of flavor to compensate. They had a spicy KC-style BBQ sauce, which you'll need imo. The tea was fantastic and the place was emaculate. The service was second to none and very welcoming. Overall, I'd recommend and it will be part of the rotation. For Burnet county, probably some of the best, but for central Texas falls...
Read moreAwesome bbq! I was hungry and this definitely hit the spot. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Smells great, taste great. Service was great, order up to serving time is just possibly a minute!
I like they served your meal on a large tray and they had nice little containers for your sides. Often times you get this little tiny piece of plastic with your food on it and you’re trying to eat and it’s just not working, but these guys had studied it, and they knew what it took to pull off a great service and plating of a meal.
Now about that smell. If only they could bottle it and we could use it for an aerosol somewhere in our homes or maybe into our hair it would make me feel like a real cowgirl. Yee ha.
Do make this a place to come and eat while you’re in Burnet. It’s definitely worth the money...
