Last Thursday night, a friend and I went to Davanni's in Burnsville for dinner. We chose the restaurant because it’s my favorite place in town for pizza! I ordered a solo pizza, a brownie, and a fountain drink; and my friend ordered a hot hoagie and a cup of water. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Everything about our meal was going perfectly, until it wasn’t. ☹ It went downhill fast, when a Davanni’s female employee started to clean half of the restaurant’s floor. Like, REALLY? WHY? It was 7:00 p.m., and they didn’t close until 9:00 p.m. We couldn’t believe that she would clean the floor so early. At the time, I was finishing my pizza and enjoying a nice conversation with my friend, when we were suddenly interrupted by the loud noise of tables and chairs that were being moved before the floor cleaning. The scraping noise was practically deafening in addition to being extremely irritating. It was like the screeching sound of fingernails across a chalkboard times one thousand! We literally had to pause in mid-sentence or repeat what we had just said to each other multiple times because of the noise level. My friend even asked the employee if she were following the instructions of her manager, but she either didn’t hear her or chose to ignore her. Then the mopping began. The floor cleaning chemical smell was overwhelming! Hey, I didn’t order my pizza with a side of bleach! I glanced over at the mop with its icky gray strings one time and did not look again, because I didn’t want to barf up my brownie that I was trying to eat. The employee never apologized to us for the offensive noise or odor. I still can’t believe that the manager would instruct her to clean the floor two hours before close when there were still patrons in the restaurant. In fact, there was an elderly couple sitting just around the corner from us, and the gentleman had a walker. I wonder what THEY thought of the whole thing? To top it all off, the employee did not put up a “CAUTION: Wet Floor” sign on the wet floor after she was finished. There are liability laws regarding wet, slippery floors! I had to do baby steps in my platform sandals when I walked across the wet floor so I wouldn’t slip and fall when we left our booth. I also cautioned my friend to be careful when she walked out. We really should’ve demanded our money back for our meals after experiencing something so horrible! In conclusion, I didn’t post this review to be mean or vindictive, I just wanted to warn other people, and express my disappointment in the management of this Davanni’s location. (Please note: I'm assuming that the manager instructed the employee to clean the floor, but maybe the employee just decided to do it on her own. Either way, the cleaning was done WAY too early in...

Spring 2025:

Usually I love divinis, but we have had lots of problems with takeout orders, the one we got yesterday was incorrect and 1 of our sandwiches did not have cheese, and everything was basically cold. Very disappointed. But staff was good and usually they are. So we probably will be back, but not doing takeout again. And we're gonna downgrade from 4 Stars to which was our previous start rating to 3 Stars folks, and I want you guys to take that seriously when you decide to come here, remember, this is a 3 star restaurant. You know you don't know what you're gonna get. Double check your order.

Fall 2024:

The food at this Davanni's is typically very good. We did have one issue with our order, but granted, that's one issue out of probably fifty visits where there's never been any problems. However, on this particular occasion we had ordered two sandwiches and we got two completely different sandwiches then what we had ordered. In addition, one of the sandwiches had whole wheat on the top for bread and white bread the bottom, so it was a little bit unusual. The pizza tasted really good. The cheesy bread would have been really good but, unfortunatelythey forgot to make it. The Mac and cheese was Mac and cheese. It was reported to be very good. I didn't eat it but, the rest of the family did and they enjoyed it. All in all I would love to give a higher review, and I think that I will change the star rating from what I was originally thinking of a 3 star review, to bump it up to a four star review. I'm hoping I can get it back up a 5 star review as time goes on and we see some better improvement with our...

I’ve never been compelled to stop mid-eating to write a review before… But tonight, it happened. I mean, it’s happening right now and I need to capture this moment because it’s special. Whoever made my pasta rosa with sausage and mushrooms on Friday, 1/25 at approximately 7pm, YOU are special! Thank you! And this Davanni’s, yup you guessed it, WAY special. I may not ever step inside another Davannis because yall have earned all of my loyalty.

Ive ordered this entree (or the locations variation of it) all over the TC metro area, many times, but this is my first time here. It’s always good, I like it obviously… but yours is exceptional - not just taste wise but there’s plenty of sauce, cheese… sausages…the flavor is on a different level tonight with!? I mean, it’s never constructed this perfectly and generously. Not overly generous, but I feel good about what I spent my money on and that rarely happens with takeout/to go orders these days.

Any hoo… I know I’m cheesin’ but It really is that good yall. I cannot stress enough how important it is to identify who blessed me with their presence in that kitchen tonight—as they must be protected at all costs lbs Also, the young man working the front counter/cashier… bout 7:45ish… great customer service and was hustling! Love it!

Overall, remarkable experience. Thank you....

I use to eat at Davanni’s once a week way way back in the day. I remember it being simple and dependable. As I walked in it was like I never left 20 odd years ago. A taped sign to the door stating no beer past this point. Friendly counter help. Simple pizza and sandwhich menu. Kids, always kids and or families scurrying about yelling or crying but generally not to bad. I had a solo pizza which found my table about 10 mins after ordering. Hot and fresh on that little pizza pan with rack thing. It was good but 20 some years later I realized it’s not much differet than a frozen pizza crust wise. The sauce is ok. Cheese is good but just short of enough. The Canadian bacon was proportionally good. But halfway through the za and a birthday party balloon pop I realized Davanni’s is like a Chuck E Cheese without all the booger, snot and saliva games and the daycare gone wild feel. Davanni’s food seems to be set up for young and old pallets. Those pallets that don’t yet care and those that don’t care anymore. And in the big picture that’s ok because you know exactly what your getting when you walk in the door. Enjoy! Kudos to the guy behind the counter taking my order as his service and professionalism was a reminder of how it should be done.

l ordered an entree size chicken caesar and was really disappointed. It came in a small package with a few thin strips of what looked like slices of thin chicken for a sandwich. I called to share my disappointment after I got home with the salad and the person on the phone seemed more interested in justifying an entree salad having 2 ounces of flat sandwich chicken than deal with my disappointment. Tome to try a different place

I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews. Our experience was great. We ate in. Pizzas made fresh. We went traditional crust on one and thin crust on the other. Both medium pizzas. Davanni's is like a hybrid fast food pizza place and an eat in place (limited table service). Each pizza fed 2 people. All in with 2 pizza, 2 fountain drinks, tip, tax $45
