Update: Response to owner reply. Yes, that may good for non-disabled folks to park in the back. But, being a disabled veteran with limited mobility is another issue. The front of your store only has one handicap parking slot and it's very tight to park into. I know it isn't your fault that the property owner doesn't realize this fact.
My first time here was told about this place by a friend. I have had donuts from Speedway and Holiday gas station (delivered each morning by 6 am), Cub Foods, and Dunkin' Donuts (which receives their donuts frozen then warms them up for retail). But, I was craving home made bakery donuts like I remembered from my past. Dunkin Donuts used to make their own donuts each morning in the past, but not anymore. With that said.
I arrived at 10 am because their hours are limited Mom - Thurs from 6 am till 12 pm and Fri thru Sunday from 6 am till 2 pm. Found out they bake their selections early in the morning until they sell out then close till the next day. Advice here is getting your selection early in the morning. When I arrived the selection was limited as I was craving glazed donuts and Apple fritters. I got 4 Apple fritters instead as my Mom loves those 2 for her, and two for me. McDonald's used to sell Apple fritters at one time, but not anymore. One can order donuts from this place thru DoorDash as well.
In closing this is a decent bakery shop, but parking sucks tho. This place has nice employees who I believe are family members that run the business?!? The Apple fritters were delicious and had lots of apples in...

Read moreDonut Star has been a neighborhood staple for decades, and previous owners Jill, and Mark before her, were beloved owners. The new owners did a great job with updating the look, but changes to the donuts haven't all been improvements. Reducing the available types of donuts (which I understand may have been necessary to the business) is still sad when there was previously so much variety. Also, in changing the Boston cream/Bismarck recipe, the cream has lost its consistency, and isn't as good anymore (it's very grainy). However, that's not to say that there aren't positive changes in the last couple years. There are periodic new flavors, and the blueberry donut holes are a nice addition.
