My buddies and I were excited to visit the Rack - big mistake! Won't be back, ever.
They are basically a locally owned Hooters rip-off. Nice hook, I guess - but the girls aren't as cute. (It's actually in a building that used to be a Hooters) One guy got a BLT - it was ok. And we ordered a couple kinds of wings - they were pretty good, not the best I've had, but I'd order them again. The service was another story and why I will NEVER be back.
Our server was cute, but slow on refills and forgot what everyone was drinking every time we interfaced with her. She was done with her shift and said someone else would take care of us. No one did. After 1/2 hour we went looking for a server and asked if we could have another round. She was surly about it, came to the table and gave us attitude while taking the order. What ever, just bring the beer! She went around the corner to the kitchen and started bitching about the face that we weren't leaving even though our server had clocked out. WTF?! It wasn't even 11 yet and the Arizona game was still on. The manager went and found our original server and made her come clear our dirty glasses away, even though she was off the clock and in her street clothes. She bitched about it to us while doing it - not our fault, but whatever. Maybe she was supposed to bus the table before punching out. We were STILL waiting for our beers, it had been another 10 minutes and maybe 45 minutes since the first server stopped helping us, and the music was shut off in our section. Then the manager comes gallumping through, shutting off all of the TVs. I asked her what she was doing and she said they were closed. I said we ordered drinks and never got them. She said we made it in time for last call, but they close at 11. Ok...give us our money back and we'll leave. No, we can't give your money back, but you should get your beers soon. ?! I said, no, forget that (I didn't say 'forget'), you obviously want us out of here. Give us our money and we'll go. She said we didn't have to leave, we could still have our drinks. I said, if you want us to stay so bad, turn the music and the TVs back on. She said the music was still on. I said, sarcastically putting a hand to my ear, I guess it's on in the bar - it's not on in this section. She mumbled something and stormed away. She came back with the remote and turned on ONE TV ONLY, stalked past me and said, "are you happy now?" I am embarrassed to say I cursed at her as she walked away.
No, I wasn't happy. I'm sorry that your work hours are cutting into your personal life, but don't take my money and then crap on me! The place was a ghost town anyway, Hooters couldn't survive in this location and they have a restaurant business model that is tested and proven. I certainly can't see how they are going to make a go of it with mediocre food/service and unattractive servers. ESPECIALLY when the manager treats her customers like...
Read moreFriends, I don’t normally rant about businesses I patronize but indulge me for a minute. Yesterday 3 of us went to Rack’s Sports Bar in Burnsville for a drink and some pull tabs. When we sat down we were served by a 20 something blond haired female server. She asked how we were and we said fine. I asked her how she was and she replied something to the effect of fine as well. I was a tad sarcastic and replied something to the effect of “that’s unfortunate but it will get better”. She glared at me and asked what we would like. Our friend was having vodka lemonade, we ordered a beer for Heidi and I ordered a Bacardi diet tall.
She brought the drinks however mine was not tall. We were playing pull tabs and went to get some playbacks and the server came to me and said “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all”. I was taken aback by her attitude and customer service skills by publically bashing me. I told the others at the table what had happened and Heidi asked to speak to the manager. He was a Hispanic gentleman who came to the table. He basically said what is he supposed to do about it? Never offered an apology for the server and basically implied F-you. I told him that while we are not regular customers we do come in there several times a year to have a drink or food. I told him that I won’t return and Rack’s will never get another dime from me. He had the F-you look to that as well.
When we left Heidi wanted to speak to the manager so she called, they promptly placed her on hold and then hung up. She called back and got the manager who told her perhaps we would have gotten better service if we had tipped her more. We had 2 mixed drinks and one beer, our tab was approximately $12.25. We gave the server $15.00 and told her to keep it if my math works correctly that is about 15% or so tip. I should not paid for those drinks before she bashed me as her tip would have been zero. The manager didn’t want to talk Heidi anymore and as he was hanging up on her he said “F-ing Americans”. Real classy and professional.
The customer is not always right! But they are always a customer. I explained at the table that I am a partner in a bar and that her behavior was unacceptable and should not be tolerated by management and ownership.
We have had service issues there in the past but nothing like this. Total unprofessionalism from bottom to top. The place that she should have asked me about it was at the table not with a line of customers at the pull tab boxes. I guess when you’re a somewhat attractive blond millennial with no customer service skills you think you can do anything, and when management allows that to occur it’s only a matter of time till Rack’s Sports Bar in Burnsville becomes an episode...
Read moreAwful. One of the worst food experiences that I have ever dealt with. We ordered three simple things; chicken wings, bacon grilled cheese and a pizza. The wings were barely cooked and the sauce was suppose to be some sort of Jack Daniels flavor, it had no flavor at all. I'm not a complainer so I was going to let them slide so I just gave them to a table of drunk guys behind me. Even they complained about how horrible they were. The bacon grilled cheese should be easy. The bread was Texas Toast, I'm cool with that, but the fact that they only put literally one slice of Kraft cheese on it and literally one piece of bacon on it(I pulled it apart and checked) is where I have the problem. I had a plate of toast. Then comes the pizza(that we had to ask for about 4-5X). Burnt pizza that you could buy at a gas station that took 1.5 hours to be brought to the table. Super annoyed at this point so we say something to the server, who was a blonde with her hair cut about shoulder length, she had nothing to say about it. In fact, I had to get up and walk around to find her in order to actually complain. Her and some other servers were hanging out having a blast watching the DJ. I didn't mean to interrupt their good time but if I would have been there any longer I would have gone in the kitchen and punched the "chef" in the face, assuming that it wasn't an 11 year old kid because the food quality is the equivalent to what a child would cook. The descent looking girls in booty shorts is not going to save this place. Don't waste your time or your money....
