Stephanie's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Caldwell

Let me start with this we were at Fat Fish and saw Stephanie's sign. Not one time but two times we see the sign. We go to Google look at the pics, reviews and menu. Stephanie's is a place go and so freaking glad we did.

One it's not a restaurant it's your kitchen and your dining room. Why I say that cause it's cozy yet elegant. You feel at home once you step in that's an awesome feeling and they nailed it.

Stephanie's is a BYOB and our amazing server Ms. Michelle was tremendous. Warm bread comes to the table with butter and flavored olive oil. Ms. Stephanie's tells us the appetizer specials I guess. Wife ordered the fresh mozzarella with roasted peppers and tomatoes. Stuffed rice balls with beef and cheese in a vodka sauce also ordered.

Ms. Michelle told us the specials which to our surprise we ordered from the special. Maryland blue crab stuffed ravioli in a vodka sauce is what my Wife ordered. I on the other hand ordered flounder stuffed with crab on sautéed spinach in a lemon sauce. Hot AMN that flounder dish had my complete focus. Seasoned perfect the flounder was the lemon sauce with a touch of fresh garlic. Man Chef you put your foot in that meal. Stuffed and happy my Wife and I were. This was my first and last time visiting this establishment. Upon entering you will notice the restaurant is extremely overcrowded with tables. I understand they're trying to make money but they literally put a table in every single empty space. Waiters and diners were bumping into tables, dropping things, and even having to move tables to get around the place. We ordered fried zucchini which had zero breaded and was complete mush. After that my main dish was served and the chicken was raw!! The waiter apologized and offered anything else but at that point I just wanted to leave. He gave me the bill for what I had thus far. I paid and left. I was extremely appalled that the owner was out and about mingling with other guests but didn't feel the need to come over and apologize personally for almost sending a guest to the hospital!! We had a bad experience at this restaurant. We ordered a dish not on the menu. The pasta was very salty and not edible. The kitchen is open and you can hear everything, the owner seemed upset even before we told them the dish was bad and his wife said in a very loud voice I am not taking that dish off the bill. Would they pay for food that was not edible? This is very bad business. I don’t mind paying for good food but when it’s not good they should either tried to make it right or not charged for it.
