BJ's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Caledonia Charter Township

I would give it another try as our food was pretty good overall however our service was horribly slow. It's a seat yourself place and it was a long time before the server approached our table, then there was another long wait before he took our order, and then he was somehow behind so a different server actually ran our food. Fortunately I was not starving and had packed snacks for my little one. However because of the exceedingly long wait my baby was having none of it by the time that our food actually arrived. Then we thought we were in the clear and ordered dessert.... and silly me for thinking that we weren't going to repeat the process. We were asked if we wanted dessert, we said yes. Several minutes passed before be able to order said dessert then my partner and I took the baby outside, walked the parking lot, topped off the fluids in our car and came back in and still waited a bit for the desserts to arrive. Again, the food is worth giving another chance and he maintained a professional attitude but I aged considerably...

The wait staff here is the most rude I have ever dealt with in my life. We called ahead due to bringing our autistic nephew who can only eat select foods. We called and asked if they served cereal. They do not so we asked if we could bring his own bowl of cereal. The person we spoke to said we could. We got to the restaurant and were told we shouldn't have brought the bowl of cereal. They also said that typically we would be asked to leave but that we would not this time. The waitress was very rude to us throughout the remainder of our time. When checking out we tried to explain the situation to which the waitress walked away from us during our conversation. The staff was very rude but to discriminate against an autistic child is unbelievable. Especially after we had sought their permission initially. I will do everything in my power to make sure this story is heard and that BJ's is filled with...

Lunch was perfect! Friendly attentive waitress acknowledged me as soon as I sat down. An older restaurant, but place was bright and tidy. Ordered the mushroom swiss burger off the menu and it was one of the best I never had! Perfectly cooked, huge slab of red ripe tomato and crispy pile of lettuce, and the fries were generous and really good! Nothing was over-salted. I ordered coleslaw and they gave me a very generous portion of what was also one of the best tasting crunchy slaw I've had anywhere -- tasted fresh and homemade.

Couldn't finish my huge burger and fries so took the rest home for later.

I did save room for a piece of their pecan pie which was so good I almost cried when I ate the last bite.

Overall, BJs is one of my favorite places to eat in Owosso/Corunna -- nothing fancy, just consistently really good comfort food. They make me feel like I'm sitting in...
