To be clear, I was looking for a place where I could get a quick and fresh bite, get a latte, and work on my laptop. It was great for the first two. But this is a place that’s better for couples and small groups to get breakfast and lunch and dinner. I’d recommend somewhere else if you want to get some work done.
Here’s why: No matter where I sat, I was taking up a space designed for four people, unlike coffee shops that tend to have more options for individual seating. The second reason: their WiFi cuts out every so often with a prompt to reënter the password to reconnect.
The food: My veggie sandwich was okay. The flavors didn’t come together for me, personally. It’s also put on white bread that falls apart with the moist hummus and tomatoes. It made it difficult to eat. The fries were great, though. My large decaf latte with oat milk was excellent. The cheese danish was also good (I don’t know if they make them or just buy them, though). This was my first time here, though. I haven’t tried other things.
The price: I got a sandwich with fries, a large latte, and a cheese danish. I paid around $30.
The setting: It’s a walk-up-and-order kind of place. It had a good-size dining space. Plenty of seating. About 15-20 booths and tables with seating for four inside with more tables outside. It was nice. It was busy the entire time but wasn’t hard to find a seat. Those who were there seemed to be happy with the place.
I was just passing through, but I don’t know whether I’d come back if I were passing through again. Although, the latte was good, and I’m tempted to try their vegetable quiche. If I ever visit again, I’ll leave the laptop behind and bring family or friends and try the quiche. Maybe I’ll feel...
Read moreFirst off, the food is very good. Probably the best chicken fried steak and eggs I’ve ever had. The issue is the service. They used to have you order at the counter and seat yourself. They have since changed to a wait to be seated and order from a server. They do not employ enough help to have this kind of service. We have gone 3 times with this new model. The first time we waited at the door for 10 mins with no one acknowledging wee were there and we left. The second time we got seated quickly but waited for a server to take our order. The last time we got seat right away but no one came to our table for over 10 mins. We had multiple wait staff walk pass our table without saying anything to us. The should have said something to show they knew we were even there. We left again. They raised their prices when they went to this service model, which would be ok, if they had enough staff to service the restaurant and provided a good level of service it wouldn’t be a big deal. With higher prices and terrible service, we will not be returning. Such a shame since we have been eating there once a...
Read moreI love to visit new places for breakfast. I was in the plaza with my wife and we both seen the Cafe and thought we would give it a shot since we haven't been there and haven't had breakfast yet. We both ordered Belgium Waffels, eggs and sausage. The waitress who assisted us was very friendly and kind. Food came out at a quick and reasonable time. But here is why I can only give one star... Both our waffles were very hard (burnt with black edges), to the point we had to use knives. I'm not the kind of person who complains while at a restaurant because I feel bad for the person waiting on us. I know they are busy and the last thing they need to do is complain on our behalf to the kitchen. Also we ordered strawberries on the waffles and my wife's had a few that were rotten in the centers. I really wanted to like this place because the staff was so nice and its a great atmosphere! But please if you go, stick with coffe and tea, maybe a pastry. I would not recommend getting a full...
