Marketplace at Town Center — Local services in Cameron Park

Second time going here. It was Sunday brunch time. Parking is a little weird especially on Sunday with the morning farmer's market. A little tip when looking for parking, as you're driving towards the theater the restaurant is on the left, a few doors down from Rubio's.

The atmosphere: it's beautiful inside, and when the weather is nice they open up the plentiful windows so you can see outside. The servers are excellent. Very friendly and helpful. We sat inside, but the outside seating near the water looks nice too. It's mostly dressy casual, but typical of this area, you wouldn't be way out of place in either casual or dressier clothes.

The food: both times we went, my food was really good. Last time I had the special, which was sort of their take on a Croque Madame. Today I got the Hangover Potatoes, which was a nice sized meal with the two eggs and sausage gravy. My stepmom got basic eggs and toast a la carte and said it was good. Last time my dad got a sandwich that looked delicious.

This time dad got the Cobb Salad, and it's the reason I took off a star. It was supposed to have spring greens/ lettuce mix, plus the usual avocado, boiled egg, tomatoes, etc. For whatever reason, they put about a quarter of an avocado, a couple of cherry tomatoes, and half of a boiled egg. I think there was supposed to be bacon too, although he never found it. It would have been okay as a $4-$5 side salad if they just cut back on the spring greens. At $16, it was a ripoff. The salad was practically an entire small bag of greens then very little else. I know it's only one menu item that was bad, but their brunch menu is already pretty limited for people looking more for the lunch side. It's frustrating to leave with one of the lunch guests...
