Saturday, 9/27/2025 - Went to try Folsom Palace Asian Bistro. The restaurant is like, about 300 sq feet. Address is 3941 Park Dr, Ste 10, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. There are many stores here. Restaurants, massage place, pet stores, gas, US Bank, Golden 1, etc. Lots of parking. Upon arrival....
Pros
Cons
Conclusion I like this little place. Not too bad. Service was great. Parking was easy. Lots of stores all around, even a Target close by. You can catch a movie if you wanted too. Movie theatre isn't too far away. I'd come here again if I'm in the area. Not to shabby. I wanted Drunken Noodle. They didn't know what that was. Hahaha. I guess I'm at the wrong Asian...

If you dont want to read the full review key points:
*not kid friendly *good food *really small portions *overpriced *nice staff *visually appealing and relaxing
It's a beautiful place but NOT KID FRIENDLY. My 11 month old dropped her bottle on the floor and some milk spilled on the floor. I would have cleaned it up but there were only white cloth napkins and I did want to use it to clean up. The waiter noticed it and made a face. I took it they weren't into messes.
The food was great. Flavor was great. Better than average chinese food. The plate was decorated beautifully....however..... The portions were small. I have a family of 4. 2 adults a 5 year old and a 11 month old (the 11 month old typically shares a plate with me and doesn't eat much). At any other place we are able to order 3 or 4 entrees and be over stuffed full. We ordered Lemon Chicken... Mongolian Beef .... And Shrimp Feied Rice. We had to seriously ration our food to make sure we all ate enough. And it cost more than a typical place. So good food ... Pay more ... Get less ....
And a final thought.... The waiter was nice but never asked us of we wanted drinks but the water was refreshing. It was orange and lemon infused. So it...
Read moreI don’t know what words should I utilize to describe the experience of the dine in here.
First, the waiters could incidentally offended or made the guest unpleasant. There was a few times, one of the waiters keep staring at my face, wondered am I ok, and maintained brainwashing himself that I didn’t look good on my face.
Second, the food is totally overcharged, cause for a full plant of entrees and rice should be given by a total price, not separated out and repriced again. For instance, a small plate of entree with a small bowl of rice can easily jump up to $25 after tax here, while at other restaurants, I can get bigger portion with rice even with lower price.
Third, the kitchen is not blocked by the glass or anything else, which made the dine in environment sounds chaotic and noisy, when the kitchen cookers and the waiters want to have a conversation, they just open up their mouth and talk loudly, never get to the back of the kitchen.
In general, at this place, almost impossible to get through of any forms of the service. If do not want to get busted out, just...
