Today I attempted to visit Cafe Reyes in Point Reyes (see photos below) with my licensed service dog, which I must have with me at all times due to my health needs. However, the owner of the establishment denied me entry, refusing to allow my service animal inside and making a scene in front of everyone present. He yelled and screamed that he doesn't allow service dogs and didn't believe that I needed one. (His response to my review speaks volumes, where he pretends he doesn't know what i'm talking about, and just continues to highlight his discriminatory and rude behavior).
Not only did he refuse me entry, but he also demanded proof that my dog was indeed a service animal. This is illegal in the state of California, but I showed him the license tag and number nonetheless, after which I walked away. The entire experience left me feeling humiliated and ashamed. I am forced to report this incident to the ADA department of Marin.
It is unacceptable for any business to discriminate against individuals with disabilities and their service animals. I urge the entire staff of Cafe Reyes to educate themselves on the rights of service animal handlers and make the necessary changes to ensure that all customers are welcome and accommodated.
I would not recommend this establishment to anyone who values inclusivity and respect for individuals with disabilities. My experience was beyond disappointing, and I hope that other businesses in the area will take note and work towards creating welcoming and accessible spaces for...
Read moreThis unassumingly stunning location in the quaint hamlet of Point Reyes Station is made into an ideal stopping point for day-trippers because it features a pair of wood-fired ovens. Day-trippers are sure to be pleased with the extensive menu that features a variety of mouthwatering dishes that are produced by the establishment. The pizza is the major appeal, and there are 10 various variations available, ranging from the traditional Margherita to hearty favorites like fennel sausage and mushroom. The Margherita is the most popular option. The Margherita is by far the most desired topping combination. The names of these savory pies with flaky crusts, including the Limantour and the Bodega, refer to well-known sites in the area, such as the Limantour and the Bodega. In addition, there is a pie known as the Farallon, which is topped with slivers of roasted garlic, small pepperonis with crisped edges, and a mountain of mozzarella cheese. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Cafe Reyes is stuffed to the gills with wood due to the manner in which it prepares its food since the restaurant has wood stacked up against the walls and beneath the counter. The huge dining area, which has the look of a barn, is straightforward, plain, and performs really well when it comes to holding get-togethers with a great number of...
Read moreReading other reviews of poor customer service it doesn’t seem yall care about feedback but I’ll throw another honest review on the pile. Maybe someday you’ll save yourselves? We had a large table of 8 with a young child and while the salads and oysters came out in an appropriate amount of time, the pizzas took 50 min. The server neglected us during that time while everyone seated after us got their food. When we asked, she said they had to “manage to go orders first but ours were in the oven”…no kindness, no apology. It then took 15 min to get one pizza on the table, so our order was clearly forgotten. Pizzas came out one at a time, again, without any warmth from the assorted waitstaff now needed to get our food on the table. While mistakes happen, our server didn’t apologize to the table until after we complained and paid the bill, and even then was sure to not be personally accountable, blaming a ticket mix up in the kitchen. She did take 15% off, which was appreciated, but we had to push for that. As for the food, the ingredients were very fresh, the pizza was tasty albeit incorrect: the plain cheese pizza had rogue mushrooms on it, and my pizza included red onions which mother did not order. What an absolute...
