I stopped at this place because it was along the way to San Francisco from the beach I visited. I have to say the atmosphere and staff are great, friendly and welcoming. The menu could have more selection on it. However, from what I have ordered to go I can say the following. Rotisserie tri tip sandwich in my humble opinion could have had more meat on it. Also, the beef was chewy and not juicy how you would expect. I gave that sandwich three stars for flavor and composition. Side was potatoes and they were done as you would expect but had nothing extra that would make them stand out. The second sandwich I ordered to go was Pork blt. This sandwich had more flavor and the meat was juicy. However, the goat cheese on it in my opinion ruined the flavor because it is so overwhelming. The side was mac and cheese and it was as you would expect also nothing to stand out. Furthermore, I wish they would give more pickles with each sandwich because three tiny slices just dont cut it. Overall, food could be much better for the price and also being that this place is in prime spot passed by all the tourists. I expected more I guess. Staff made it somewhat better with their smiles and positive vibes.

Great food for great prices, but it's the service and presentation that puts this place over the top. The establishment is clean and well lit. Even the cooks in the kitchen is dressed in a presentable way. Splashes of orange accent colors are seen throughout to compliment the wall mural you can't miss. I especially appreciate the orange salt and pepper shakers and the orange apron ties. The attention to detail is reflected in the service. My wife and I ordered a trout and a side of broccalini to share. They brought our food with two small plates without us needing to ask for them. My wife was given hot water in its own container along with a mug. When they asked us if we needed anything else, we actually didn't. The next day, we went back to try their coffee. We asked for the single serve two share between the two of us. The ones helping us this time were different from the night before, but again the attention to details are perfect. We got a little sand dial to know when to push down the press. Even though we got a single serve, we got two cups without us asking. We had a great time.

A Hidden Rotisserie gem at Point Reyes Station! Side Street Kitchen is a collaboration between Sheryl Cahill (Proprietor) and Chef Aaron Wright (Executive Chef). It all started when the previous business in this location closed in 2015. The look and feel of the place is a combination of 50s diners and modern California eateries. Their menu is small by diner standards. It offers a selection of sandwiches, entrees, and a few salads, small bites, sides, and desserts. The ingredients are all from local farms. We discovered the place a while back but did not have the opportunity to dine there until a few months ago. The food is delicious! Their roasted half chicken is fantastic! Their Quinoa Salad, which comes with feta cheese, black olives, wild arugula, and tomatoes, is delicious. I also enjoyed their side of Crispy Brussels Sprouts, which comes with a touch of parmesan, pepper, and coriander. They offer several beers, ciders, and wines if you wish to have a drink. You may consider their delicious Apple Fritters for a few extra calories and wash them with a good cup of coffee!

Edit : 5 years later, I finally went back to Side Street kitchen and what a disappointment this was. The paté had no taste and was watery, the chicken was bland and chewy, the potatoes looked like they came straight out of the freezer. We also tried the smoked oysters, which I think were new on the menu and if you look under my chair you might find the piece I had to spit. It was simply horrid, and swallowing it would have been more painful, than the torture of the disappointment i experienced today. Like a famous French Chef once said, the hardest when you reach the stars is to stay there. Wake up call for Side Street Kitchen, this was bad, in the worst possible way.

One word : Extraordinary More words : Pushing the door of this seemingly simple place does not prepare you for the incredible food that can be found there. The chicken liver paté is simply the most incredible dish I've had over my entire trip in California, the roasted chicken is made with a perfect blend of spices, slowly cooked to the perfect point and served with amazing side. The Mac and Cheese outbests some very fancy restaurants ones by far, creamy, cheesy but never too fat, something to try for sure. There is a lot of love in this kitchen, truly a class of its own,...
