Had a fantastic day at the beach, 6/9/2021 , and wanted to end the day with a nice meal.

Didn’t happen here.

My friend and I entered through the front door. I saw a sign at the front desk that stated there was No Entry to the garden patio from that entrance and to ring bell for service.

My friend didn’t see the sign and walked through the inside of the building and out to the outside garden patio. One of the employees behind the kitchen counter motioned for me to stay put and ring the bell at the hostess desk for service.

So I rang the bell. Bad idea. ā˜¹ļø

The woman serving the food turned around and looked angry. She rudely said, ā€œI will be with you in a minute, but right now I’m busy!ā€ I apologized and explained to her that I wasn’t demanding her immediate attention. I explained to her that the employee behind the kitchen counter prompted me to ring the bell. This seemed to aggravate her further. She rudely confronted me and asked if I was there to pick up take out. I let her know that I wanted to dine on the patio and asked her if I should walk through the building. This aggravated her even further and she said, ā€œ No! Walk around through the outside to the garden gate!ā€

So I did.

I found my friend and told her that I wouldn’t eat there if they paid me to eat there.

I know that Covid - 19 has stressed many of us to the limit and that the new procedures can be a bit confusing as we slowly start to open up.

I get that.

But still, I am left scratching my head and wondering what I did to deserve that treatment.

She treated me like a scolded dog - no joke.

Anyway, I will never set my foot in there again and I will spread the word for friends and family members to do the same. Thanks...

Really bummed about this one. We heard such good things and this one fell flat. The restaurant is right on the main street of Point Reyes Station so a great hustling and bustling spot. The food is where things went downhill. We ordered the bread basket of only popovers and requested that they please be brought out hot; the waitress said will do. They were brought out shortly after and they were barely warm. We were all hungry, so we ate them, but it seemed very weird that asking for hot popovers was blatantly ignored/dismissed. The turkey chili came out and it was not even warm, and the cornbread was so incredibly dense. The shrimp lettuce wraps had limited flavor and were super small. The Caesar salad with chicken was substantial with a large piece of protein so highly recommend that. At the end of our meal when sharing with the waitress that the chili came out cold, she sort of mocked us when we mentioned she should share with the kitchen that the soup came out cold (in no restaurant do you serve chili cold). It was a weird meal and we were so looking forward to our meal only to be extremely...

I booked this place for a birthday dinner for my mom's 73rd, and I told them that important detail over the phone when booking for our party. They were very kind and excited to book us. In my experience restaurants they will offer free dessert to special guest after we clear the bill. Mind you, the service wasn't the problem and the food was good, however when we got the bill we were charged for 2 chocolate desserts instead of one. I asked the waitress if they could take it off, because of my mom's birthday. She asked her management and they said that's "not something they do" I was surprised and insulted seeing how we spent $380+ including tip on this meal, and they couldnt take an $8 dessert off for a 73 year olds birthday, that's extremely weird and tacky. I complained to the host and again she gave a lackluster excuse, saying again that's not something that they do... I informed her that's extremely disappointing since I wasn't told that over the phone and it took a lot of savings to give my mom a special dinner. Because of this interaction and info, I will not be visiting anytime...

We’ve eaten here many times over the years. However this last time the food seemed way better than it normally is! They have stepped up their game. They have a lovely outdoor patio too. For starters we got the buffalo cauliflower which are lightly breaded cauliflower chunks with a spicy sauce and a wonderful feta dip. DeLish! My hubby had the mussels with a green curry sauce and he said they were excellent. I’m not a mussel girl but I definitely took a few dips of the curry sauce and it was superb. I had the halibut fish and chips which came with a wonderful coleslaw with a bit of kale in it I believe. Not the usual vinegary watery mush. The fish was incredible - the batter was thin and super crispy golden brown, fish was done to perfection - the best fish and chips I’ve had! Apologies I would have taken better pictures (other than the one here which is just our doggy box to take home) but we were very hungry after a long hike and it was so good we couldn’t stop.

Location of this restaurant is great. Very easy to find as it is on the main street of Point Reyes Station. We waited for 20 minutes to get our table. We ordered Garlic bread, veggie burger, clam chowder, beet salad, turkey sandwich. The garlic bread was fantastic and so was the turkey melt. Clam chowder was okay, not as creamy as Boudins of course. Beet salad was great. Veggie burger was disappointing. It was big but you had to pay extra $3 each for adding cheese , avocado etc. At least cheese should be included in a burger. The fries were excellent. Service was good. Our server was great. She apologized as our salad was missing walnuts and brought out some to munch on later. Overall, food was very pricey but good considering the location and very busy tourist spot. I will recommend this place.
